Do you buy gifts for
your DC when they are little?
DD Is turning 1 a week before christmas-- I was just wondering if you actually bought stuff for your DC for their first birthday? 1st Christmas?

DD was three months old for her first Xmas and completely clueless of course but I still had presents under the tree for her. It all made for cute pics even though she was too little to know what was going on.

Just some really inexpensive things but I give them money for savings instead. My dc will be over 1 this Xmas and I'm doing the same thing again.

DS was 4 months old for hanukkah. I got him a high chair, a child chair, some small toys that were developmentally appropriate and things like that.

DS was 7 months last year and we got him just a few little things.
This year will be the same. And then next year we will probably start doing a little bit bigger.

For her first Christmas we bought DD a few things because I wanted her to open gifts. We didnt get her anything for her first birthday but we threw her a party instead.

if DC was only a few months old i wouldnt buy much or i would buy things i would need to get anyway.
DD turned 1 about 2 weeks after xmas i said i wouldnt go over board well that didnt happen sears had a sale on toys and it all went out the window. To be fair her bday is new years i bought her little diamond earrings instead of toys. Also with the toys i got i bought her tihng to last her thru the whole year since her bday is right after xmas

DS was a month old on Christmas. I only had one gift for him. I felt bad about it but I was team green so I couldn't really buy anything gender specific before he was born, I was not up to it the 1st month to go shopping and he had all he could have ever needed between my shower, hospital gifts and others giving him Christmas presents. He didn't know the difference.

DD will be almost 9 months by the time christmas rolls around and I can't wait to have presents wrapped for her!
I mean, she enjoys toys even now at almost 6 months.
And you can always get clothing too

DD was 6m for her first holiday season and i bought her gifts. i really didnt need too - she got enough stuff from everyone else and wouldn't have known the difference. i didnt get her any birthday presents (well DH bought her the whole Gabba doll set so i guess we did get her that) but we threw a big party and she got a ton of gifts.
this holiday season i will prob get her a few things again, she will be 19m.

Right away, but not big gifts.
DS was 4 mos for his first Christmas. He got some rattle toys, and a few other very small things. Our families bought him more gifts than he needed anyway.
We got him a bounce house for his first birthday, although we actually bought it a few months after his birthday in the fall, when we knew it would be on sale. He again got plenty of gifts from family and had no clue.

he was 3 months at first christmas - i bought one outfit
at 15 months i bought about 5 - 6 presents
at 2 a whole bunch and a few for his brothers who were 4 months

DS1 was a December baby. My family bought a few things for him for the holidays. We all bought stuff for him for his first birthday and the holidays that followed.
