Best aka cheapest place to buy formula?
So the well has just about run dry and we will be starting formula very soon. Where does everyone get the best deals on the goods? I belong to Costco but not sure how their prices compare.
Also, how did you know which formula you wanted to start your LO on? I have samples of enfamil and similac right now.

Re: Best aka cheapest place to buy formula?
I buy formula at either target (on sale with coupns) this week they have enfamil for 22 dollars a tub and you buy 2 and get a $10 gift certificate plus I got 3 dollar coupon online that I printed. I also buy formula at bjs (they take manufacture coupons). Every baby is different when it comes tO formula. It's sort of trial and error.

Best aka cheapest place to buy formula?
I found target to be the cheapest. Always look for sales. I belong to BZjs but theirs was only about a dollar cheaper and not worth a special trip when I am always in target.
I would start with your samples and see if your DC is ok on one of them and then go from there

Best aka cheapest place to buy formula?
Depending on the brand, Target, Walmart, Costco, BJs
I used enfamil based on some small research and the doctors recommendation.
Also I got KILLER deals by stocking up via ebay. There are reputable dealers on there. Just had to do the math of price per can after shipping vs store sale. I found a killer deal once by buying the smaller cans (probably freebies) by calculating cost per oz. Ended up paying less than $9 per large can that way (including shipping) but then I never really found anything else worthwhile. I stocked up for a few months then by then she changed her formula and after a year she was off anyway.

My best bet was Target, on sale, with the $5 checks. I would just stock up when they were on sale. $17-$18 per tub was my usual "best price."

Re: Best aka cheapest place to buy formula?
bj's doesnt carry enfamil newborn just an fyi. My dd is on enfamil newborn. I found that cvs is pretty reasonable because you can use 25% off coupons when they are available. Also BRU usually has a special if you buy 2. Sign up on the enfamil or similac websites to get checks in the mail. Also your ped should have samples. We always get either powder or liquid samples at the ped !! Just ask !

Target has best deals.
Enfamil Gentlease is a great transition formula. I believe Target has a generic version too.

Best aka cheapest place to buy formula?
Thank you ladies! Seems like target is the way to go but I will check out other avenues. Dd is 3 1/2 mos so she'll be needing the infant formulas. What is a good price per fl ounce wise? Anyone know? Seems like that would be the way to compare.

Re: Best aka cheapest place to buy formula?
I can only use RTF per my ped, so I buy cases at BJ's, I give DS simliac sensitive, its 8 quarts for $42 so each quart is about $5.25.. I also signed up online for simalac's strong moms program to get $5 checks which I use at target from time to time, and get each quart for like $2 after the check.

Also ask your Ped. I switched DS to target version of gentlease. It's 10$ a can cheaper and sometimes target has coupons on their website for target brand stuff

Usually go to Target. Sent DH the other day though and the RTF similac was $7.44 each He never looked at the price and bought 12 of them Definitely look for the sale. This week stop & shop would've been cheaper.

Re: Best aka cheapest place to buy formula?
we switched over and now use the target brand of emfamil gentleease. dd adjusted well to the switch and you can get a double size tub for $21.99. Best price by FAR compared to anywhere else, even with sales and coupons.

We use Gentlease powder and I find the best price at Bjs. DS 1 was on similac sensitive rtf and I found the best price at Shop Rite (it was the same as BJs and you got a $10 coupon off your shopping order each time you spent $100 on baby items).

Re: Best aka cheapest place to buy formula?
I have twins so I researched this. The cheapest I have found (and use) is BJs powdered formula (it's equivalent to Similac). It's $21.99 for the large can and it says on it that it makes 82 4oz bottles.
I'm sure Costco has their own version too.

Re: Best aka cheapest place to buy formula?
You can buy formula at CVS using there 25% coupon. I usually get it printed on my receipt or emailed to me when using my card. Then I usually bought the smaller cans that were around $15. Then with the 25% off and then a $5 check on top of that. I usually stocked up when I had those 25% coupons bc they do not come around that often!

Re: Best aka cheapest place to buy formula?
I used enfamil - ped did not want me using similac b/c it has lower than recommended DHA levels - so we switched.
I found target to be the cheapest or the enfamil website. Also, got a lot of free samples from the enfamil lady on here

I did the same. I was averaging around $12 a can of powder when hitting the sales right!

Best aka cheapest place to buy formula?
Just wanted to add that the price per ounce will totally depend on the type of formula you use. We were originally using similac advance but switched to enfamil gentlease due to gas issues. On average I aim to spend $1 per powderded ounce. I know ready to feed is typically more expensive so I am not sure how much that costs.

Have you checked into your insurance? My SIL gets a case per month and pays like a ridiculously low copay. Like 17$. They didn't know about this for the first kid but it may be something to look into

Our insurance covers certain formulas as well. I looked into it though and our copay is higher so it's about the same to go to BJs and use coupons.
