Should i look for a new daycare
My DS is 7 mths old and has been in daycare since 3 mths. I like the teachers in his current room (and he loves them!) I haven't had any problems with the daycare, but i am still thinking maybe i should look for another. There is a lot of turnover in tecahers / assistants (so far one teacher has been constant the other position is constantly changing people), and though i love the teachers in his current room he is soon moving up and i'm not sure i like the teachers in the next room...i have never seen them do anything wrong or bad but when i walk by i see them texting or their backs turned to the kids - not every day but often enough. again, they could be great with the kids, this is just what i see in passing. Lastly, i just don't have that warm and fuzzy feeling of "oh i absolutely love my daycare!!!" would you look for another daycare or am i overreacting? My DH is fine with staying there and thinks i'm just crazy

Have you brought up the texting to the director? This is something I would share with them. It doesn't hurt to see what other schools are out there but teacher turnover rates are fairly high in daycare no matter where you go. The pay is extremely low. Like I said, go with your instinct and see if another school is a better fit. I did a ridiculous amount of research and visits because I had worked in early childhood for a long time and I love my son's daycare. Good luck!

Totally agree! You definitely should go with your instincts. I would check out other daycares so you can have a comparison. Definitely mention the texting to the director.

Re: Should i look for a new daycare
i had similar concerns about the turn over when DS was 12 months. there were other issues that just didn't leave me loving the daycare.
it was a tough decision but we changed daycares at 15 months and it was the BEST decision ever. I really struggled with DS having to transition but I am so glad we did it.
