Cole's Home!!!
WOW!! What a week we've had!! We met our son, Cole, in Korea last week  It was a WAAAY to short meeting with his foster mother, and foster brother and sister, who have been taking care of him for almost 2 years now. They were AMAZING!!
WE spent the next day with him in Korea, before the loooong flight home! (something i'm not sure i ever want to do again with a 21 month old! LOL )
We got home last Thursday and have been settling in. he's doing realy well actually- plays well with both DH and i, will reach for both of us if he's upset... he's eating well and enjoying the nice weather in our backyard I think his grieving/missing his foster family comes out when its time to go to sleep (naptime, or at night). he just get SO angry at us for trying to get him to lay down- screaming his head off, clinging to us, but at the same time pushing us away.... its so, so sad  But they say that sleep time is when a lot of kids grieve the most because there are no distractions, they start thinking about their foster family and stuff. PLUS, some of it could just be that hes still on "Korea time" (13 hour time difference!)
in any case, its going as well or better as we thought it would- and hes such a sweet, smart, funny little guy and i can't wait to see even more of his personality come out!

He's gorgeous! Congratulations!!!! He looks so happy in that picture with the sand. Sounds like you are all adjusting well.

I have read some of your earlier posts and reading this one brought tears to my eyes. He is absolutely ADORABLE! I want to kiss him through the monitor. Congratulations Mamma.

omgoodness I can't imagine how thrilled you and your husband must be! what a long journey for everybody involved and reading your post and seeing your pictures (ADORABLE BOY!!!) makes me get teary eyed. seriously, becoming a mother made me so emotional LOL!
Congratulations mommy!!! I am korean and yes, the jetlag is horrid so I hope Cole gets settled soon :) please update with pics as he grows! he is so handsome!

I commented on parenting but again- this is just so heartwarming and amazing.
I am crying reading it.
What a gorgeous boy!
And what an amazing family to foster him for this long- it must be so hard for them to give him up, even knowing he is going to an amazing family and life! I give them so much credit!
Hopefully he will adjust quickly to his amazing new family!

tears of joy for you over here! it kills me, how you describe his grief at bedtime but that will ease with time

Congratulations! I am so happy for you. It sounds like you are all doing fantastic.
Having BTDT - DS was 19 mo when we brought him home the grieving is very tough to go through. Just keeping giving him as much loving contact as he will let you. Play Play Play, Baby him as much as possible talk, talk, talk and of course love love love him. How is he doing with food? Will he let you feed him? Spoon or hand feeding him treats while making eye contact is a great bonding activity. Im sure have read all about this stuff so I wont go on. Feel free to fm me with any questions.
Enjoy every minute with him it goes so fast. Our DS just turned 9 and I remember the plane ride home like it was yesterday.
