Donating Furniture?

Who do you normally call?
I have a bedroom set to donate in great condition.
What's a good place to call to donate it?

Re: Donating Furniture?

I'm in Queens.

I ended up donating to Housing Works because they gave me the least problems and picked up the furniture when they said they would.

Re: Donating Furniture?

I donated mine to the Salvation Army - just called them, they asked a few questions and then came to pick it up.

be careful with salvation army - they are veryyy picky
i have had a few friends that had them come for a pickup and when they got there they said that it was not in good enough shape for them to take (once was bc it had cat hair on it, one was bc they said it smelled like cigarettes even though the person who owned it was not a smoker but he did occasionally let people smoke in his house)

Re: Donating Furniture?

Have you tried selling it at all? I'm sure you could post on here and on craigslist and get someone to pick it up and give you a little money! What size bed is the set for? DH & I are moving and looking for a new headboard!

St Vincent De Paul

Agreed!

When my parents moved OOS they called St Vincent De Paul (SVDP) and it happened there was a family in need of furniture due to a house fire- SVDP came to our house and picked up the furniture.
