baby detergent question

hi all, going to be a new mom in a few weeks and just had question about washing the baby's clothes in Dreft. I washed all my newborn and 0-3 stuff to prepare, but for how long do you have to keep washing the baby's clothes in this detergent before switching over to regular detergent? TIA!

baby detergent question

When DD was little dreft gave her a reaction. Yes its "for babies" but it has a fragrance that dd got a rash from. from that point on i used any of the free and clear detergents. all and arm & hammer mostly because of price. With ds i never tried the dreft because i now wash all of our clothes in the free and clear detergent.

If it doesnt give your LO a reaction, you can use it for however long you want to. Honestly i dont know of any difference between that and regular detergent besides the "new baby" smell

Good luck with your little one !!! Chat Icon

Re: baby detergent question

I started using free and clear detergents right before I had DD (to wash her newborn clothes) and never looked back. I can't use All F&C because DH is actually allergic but have had luck with Arm&Hammer Free and Clear for all of our clothes...

I bought one large bottle (the kind with the spout) and at 3 months there's still plenty left. I plan to use All free and clear once I run out since that's what we use anyway.

I never used dreft. I started using all or tide free and clear when I got pennant and used that for the baby clothes too. I still use them and just buy whichever is on sale.

We never used any of the "baby" detergent. We switched to sensitive, free and clear for all of us before she was born. If you get it on sale its no more exspensive so we stick with it.

I love dreft, never really stopped using it. DD is 2 and I just had twin boys. I love scent it leaves on baby clothes!

My two boys are highly allergic to any detergent with a fragrance. They get horrible rashes and eczema. We get All Free and Clear and if I have coupons or there is a sale I'll do Seventh Generation or any other natural detergent.

I really miss using Gain though, I friggen love the smell of Gain and it lasts for a long time, not just out of the wash.

They made a baby one too. I started with that and moved to the regular Purex free and clear after a few months.. DS has sensitive skin and never had an issue with it
