when to put the swing/bounce seat/R&P away

My DS is 6 months old today and was using the snug a bunny and R&P to sleep in. We have now transitioned him to the crib so he hasn't been using them. He is on the small side so he isn't near the weight limit. At what age did you put these items away? We are in a one bedroom so the more I can get away, the better. Once we do pack it up though, it won't be coming back out, so I want to make sure we are 100% done with it. Also, if you didn't save the original boxes, how did you store everything? I want to make sure that everything stays in good condition. I was planning on keeping the bounce seat out for now just for when I shower, cook etc. TIA.

Re: when to put the swing/bounce seat/R&P away

I am not quite there yet as DS is only 2.5mths and still sleeping in the swing but once I transition over to the crib (which hopefully will be soon) I will put the swing away. There will really be no need for it anymore, at least in my case. Right now its really only used for him to sleep in at night. He naps in his crib or a bouncer. I am kind of looking forward to getting rid of it since it takes up so much space.

My DD is almost 4 months, we still use everything except her RNP which I haven't stored yet because it's so easy to travel with.

We took apart the snug a bunny swing and store it in my parents basement. We still have the RNP, I put him in it sometimes. He now loves the bouncer but is growing out of it.

we used the RNP every day until about 9-10m when she could sit up on her own. she was never near the weight limit but i actually used it one day TOO long cause even though she was strapped in she somehow managed to sit up and tumble out the front Chat Icon although she was fine....

the bouncer only lasted us til about 2-2.5m. once we got the RNP we rarely used it since we all preferred putting her in the RNP and she seemed to like it better too.

Re: when to put the swing/bounce seat/R&P away

DD is one & I still throw her in the swing or bouncer once in a while to take a quick shower. As long as Mickey mouse clubhouse is on she's good Chat Icon
Also she's still kinda tiny.

Re: when to put the swing/bounce seat/R&P away

um, we just put the swing away last week, lol. she's 9 months today. i looked at the weight limit (25lbs), realized she's about 23lbs, and we only used it maybe 2x a week for 15 mins at a time (when one of us needed to do something that required her to be contained) and it just wasn't worth the space it was taking up anymore.

RNP was retired at 4mos

bouncy probably about 4.5 mos, she got too big for it and kept hitting her head on the top frame.

we kept original boxes, so i'm no help there.

we just got ds in the crib, so we'll be putting away the RNP.

we still use the bouncer seat (he's on the small side).

we still use the swing for naps.

he's 6 months old in 4 days. Chat Icon

LOL. we have a lot in common! I just got him in the crib for his morning nap, afternoon nap is still a toss up :)

How big is your DS? I am constantly worried because my DS is obviously not taking after my Husband and I. We were both born 21+ inches and in the 90th percentile. He is 25 inches and 15 pounds now. He is low on the height charts!

Re: when to put the swing/bounce seat/R&P away

DS is 12 months and i JUST put the R&P and exersaucer in the attic 2 days ago lol. the bouncy seat i put away i think when he was around 6 or 7 months.
the swing he hated so we never used it to begin with

ETA: everything is in black grabage bags except for the swing. its still in his room, just in pieces

We never used the RNP but DD is still in the snugabunny swing at almost 8.5 months. She just hangs out and enjoys the swinging and rarely falls alseep in it. Two weeks ago she was only 14.5 lbs so there is no fear of her going over the weight limit.

Re: when to put the swing/bounce seat/R&P away

Put away RNP around 15 wks. She still would use swing until about 9 mos. now at 16 mos, the only thing that's still out is the Baby Einstein exersaucer. I can still put her there if I need her to stay put while I shower or make dinner.
