Talk to me about 2 kids and driving a 4 door car, doable?
I have a ford Taurus so it's pretty roomy and can definitely fit 2 convertable carseats no problem but I still worry about the lack of space when DC number 2 comes along. With the cost of daycare for 2 kids I don't really want to rush out and buy a new car right away.
Right now, I ALWAYS change DS in the car. Public changing tables gross me out but I dont think there will be room to change DC in the car with 2 carseats there. I currently can fit 2 strollers (a maclaren, city mini) and a wonder wheeler for the beach in my trunk. But I wonder if a double will fit back there with enough room for the wonder wheeler, etc.
Thoughts?

We have a sedan and the 4 doors are totally doable. Lack of space, ample trunk storage, and third row seating...not so doable. I feel like I'm driving a clown car most days.

I have 19 month old twins in a Cadillac DHS so its totally doable. I change them in the front seat when I'm at the park all the time. Public changing tables gross me out too but I use disposable liners and bathe them as soon as I get home. I am not looki ng forward to potty training in public bathrooms!!!!

DH downsized from a Yukon to a charger. We have a covertible car seat and an infant carseat in there and I can fit in between if we need to have an additional passenger. I just change DS diaper in the front seat, it's tricky, but definitely doable.

We have 2 convertible car seats, a city select double stroller, an umbrella stroller, the wonder wheeler and the beach umbrella in our trunk at all times!! We have a jeep, not a sedan but still a 4 door car. When I have to I change the boys in the front seat. doable!

We have 3 kids and a 4 door car(5 seater car). When I change diapers in the car while traveling I either do it on my lap, on DH's seat when he gets out or on my seat while i am standing outside. I have even done it by laying baby in the trunk a few times.
We travel often and we have no problems bringing luggage for 5 people a pack and play, small stroller and other random stuff. Even our dog(a lab, that lays on the floor under one of the kids feet) fits in there. I guess it would depend on the car and it's size trunk.

People manage with 2 kids and a 2 door car, and lots of us manage just fine with 2 kids and 4 doors. LI happens to be very mini-van heavy, but I don't think that's the case in the rest of the country.
Most of the time, we use our PT Cruiser, but I have two car seats in my 2 door pickup, and it works out just fine.

I change my kid with the front passenger seat..... so the back isn't affected....
our trunk in our full sedan is pretty packed though from a... rolling cooler, 10x10 fold canopy, pole chairs, beach toys we have to put the stroller and snacks in the backseat.....

We keep a changing pad in the trunk and throw it across my seat and it covers the console in the front which is VERY helpful in changing DS's diaper. This might be helpful for you.

Absolutel - We have an Acura MDX and a Toyota Corolla ........I perfer the Corolla b/c I'm more comfortable in a car.
The city min double and the wonder wheeler fit in my trunk - w/ room to spare. - and my care is SMALL......you can ABSOLUTELY do it w/ your car !!

In a Taurus, you could even add a third kid and be comfortable. Definitely a big enough car to have 2 kids, 2 adults and all your gear.

It depends what you choose. We have a big looking suv that actually has less usable seating space than many large regular 4 door cars. We didn't have a 2nd ds when we got it and the two car seats don't even leave room for a third person to sit comfortably. Our "third row" is a downright joke.

My parents have a Camry with 2 carseats in the back and it's very roomy! The kids are restrained in seats--it isn't like they need room to stretch out, KWIM?

I have two kids in an Accord. We have two small strollers in the trunk, but had a hard time fitting the double stroller.
It is hard when I have to change the baby. I throw the changing pad across the passenger seat, but it hurts my back bending over.
My older DS is starting to potty train, and I really would like a place to put the potty if we are out and about. And its not douable with a car.
We just bought a SUV, but didn't pick it up yet. I really wanted more room and a SUV type trunk so that I had more room to change the baby, place a portable potty seat in, or fit a double stroller.
I think the Taurus is bigger then the Accord so you might have more trunk space. I just feel like we personaly needed more room.

No comment on the car as we went for an SUV with #1 but I was going to add, what about changing them on a pad in the trunk? This is what I do with DD in our SUV becuase with her seat in the middle there's no room to do it anywhere else. You couldn't pay me to use a public changing table lol!

It is totally doable! I have 2 kids, 2 convertible front facing car seats. I drive a VW Passat. I am able to fit between the 2 seats in the back. I have a lot of trunk space. I can fit the Baby Jogger City Select with both seats in the trunk, an umbrella stroller and some other things.
