2-3 month old sleeping patterns (in the day)
DS is 10 weeks and the past few days he started sleeping between feedings completely. He hasn't done that since he was maybe 3 weeks old? Should I be waking him up to stimulate him more? I try but he really just wants to sleep. Is this normal? Will it affect his sleeping at night? It's only been 2 days now. He's been out cold, and I've only woken him if it's been past 3.5-4 hours since his last feed, to feed him, until about 7 pm....

I dont have an answer but, my DD just started doing the same thing. She is 11 weeks old and slept from 10:30 am to 3 pm yesterday. today she stayed up but, is now sleeping again after a 2 hr nap! Growth spurt maybe?

I would think a growth spurt also. I wouldn't worry as long as it doesn't last. DD had some days where she'd nap for 4+ hours out of nowhere. I never woke her bc I figure she must need the sleep. I don't remember it affecting her sleep at night at all.

Sleep is extremely important so I wouldn't wake your LO up, especially if they're very sleepy. Instead I would make sure during the time that they are up that you get in a little tummy time and stimulation so you feel better about doing it each day. My son slept constantly as a baby, has developed as he has grown correctly for his age and is still an excellent sleeper at 15 mo (Knock on wood this doesn't change! lol). Hang in there....You're doing a great job!

definitely let him sleep! it's when they grow and develop. agree with pp to get in as much stimulation when he's awake!

Omg DD2 is also 10 weeks and has been taking the longest naps this week. Today she took a 4.5 hour "morning" nap and a 3 hour afternoon nap and went down for bed at 8:30. I thought they started sleeping less at this age. Oh well... It's giving me loads of alone time with older DD which is really nice. I do wake her after 4 hours or so bc I'm nursing and the boobies begin to ache.
