Now What

So my shower was Saturday and we got tonsssssssss of clothes and onesies all in different sizes for our Chat Icon

What is the best way to organize them?
What should I wash? What should I leave alone. So many things are on hangers. Should I leave them or should I fold them and put them in a draw.

Her room is a mess and I really want to get it fixed up ASAP.

I feel like my head is going to explode

Re: Now What

I divided everything in piles according to sizes.

Then from there went through each pile and decided what I wanted to keep.

Since I received a lot in 3 months, I returned a decent amount and bought bigger sizes.

I left the tags on the anything bigger then 3 months, so I could gage what size he would fit in as he got bigger. I returned what ever I didn't put him and replensihed with outfits that were easier to get him in and out of - like Carter pj's etc.

I was lucky that DS was pretty much true to his size based on how many months he was.

My SIL was screwed because she took all the tags off her clothes and her DD was bigger. So she needed warm clothes for her in 9 months, but only had summer clothes in that size.

The clothes shes not going to wear now, hang up and out of the way.

I do one drawer shirts, onsies.
One drawer socks, misc
One pants
One draw outfits together
etc

Make sure all the clothes are in the right season for the size. DD was born in May and I got a TON of summer stuff and all wrong sizes. I went through it all and put the in piles by size. Then I figured out what I wanted to keep, what had a gift receipt, and what I needed to exchange.

And you also have to figure what you are going to do. I dressed dd from the very beginning. So I didn't need sleep and plays except for pj's. I had her almost everything we owed.

If you plan on doing sleep and plays, then return most of the real little stuff and exchange for bigger sizes or different outfit.

Some stuff I exchanged for the bigger size for the following summer but you don't know what she will be but I rarely had any problems buying the year after

Congrats

My best advice to you is to tape all the gift receipts to the tags so there is no way you can lose them, and only wash what your DD is going to wear when she is about to wear them. I know you want it all to be done/perfect, but you will have a much better idea of what she will need once she gets here and as she grows. Every baby is so different in terms of size, and all clothes run so differently

They sell those dividers for the closet - I would arrange it all by size and then only wash it as you are about to use it.

Re: Now What

I kept tags on 6months and up clothes with gift receipt if you have one. I put NB and 3 month clothes into piles. I washed maybe 15-20 onesies, footie PJS/sleep and plays, a few pairs of the cotton pants, bibs, burb clothes and a sock in each size so I was ready - because you don't know how long (if at all) they will be in NB size. eveything else kept tags on and washed as i needed them. DS was a premie so I used all my NB and 3 month clothes for months!

Re: Now What

anything you don't like, return now and get a store credit - You can use that at any time, but most stores have a set time frame return policy ........

Everything else, attach the receipt to and store in piles by size ......
