Re: can u tell me ur crib layers?

I have the two sided reversible matress from bru and dd likes it. I did have a waterproof protector on it but have since taken it off. The matress is waterproof. I have four different crib sheets (i only registered for three but kept the fourth). This way if one is in the wash, you have a spare and a spare for the spare if all hell breaks loose lol. Before dd could roll, I had a sheet saver in there...i had two total. Df had reflux and it was nicr changing the pad instead of the sheet if she spit up.

G - get a foam mattress. theyre lighter & easier to change sheets. Coils arent necessary since they need firm, not comfort.

I'm still not sure how im layering the crib though. I have a crib pad..and sheet savers.
I have 3 sheets...ill just make sure that the extra 2 are always washed & ready to be used :)

We had a foam mattress, I think the Colgate Classica that Baby Bargains recommended, a mattress pad, and a sheet. I have 2 nice sheets and one plain white one. Even with a stomach virus and random diaper explosions three was always enough. We didn't have a washer and dryer in our apartment so on average I did wash twice a week and three sheets was more than enough! Very rarely even needed the plain white sheet.

ETA: Only had one mattress pad. When she did leak through I just didn't put one back on. The foam mattress is waterproof itself so it isn't totally necessary.

We have the Colgate Classica II that Baby Bargains recommended and I love it! So light and easy to change, compared with a coil mattress! It's only at BBB, but there's a very similar one at BRU.

I have two waterproof mattress pads -- one that wraps around the mattress and one that's flat. I also have a wedge under the sheet because DD was used to sleeping in the rock n play and I wanted an elevation for her to sleep on. It's safety tested and approved, but we didn't start using it until 9 m. I have about 8 sets of sheets, but I started with 4. I just found types I LOVE and needed to buy which is why I have so many now. I love the Aden & Anais sheets. I also really like the pottery barn kids sheets!

We never used sheet savers or anything. I have breathable bumpers on the crib still. We're still glad they're on there. Took the crib skirt off when we lowered the mattress to the bottom level at 9 m.

Re: can u tell me ur crib layers?

we had the foam mattress for ds.......... sooooo much lighter, easier to change when he wet it.

we have 1 matress pad........should have gotten a second...... I used the waterproof rectangular sheet when the pad would get wet......

4 crib sheets- 3 alternated at home and 1 for daycare - definately all used.

Re: can u tell me ur crib layers?

We got the Colgate Classica Mattress…baby not here yet though so I cannot review it!

Anyway I am doing 2 mattress pads and 4 sheets. I may layer up incase of blow outs in the middle of the night. i.e. mattres pad, sheet, mattress pad, sheet. I cannot do a sheet saver because the back of my crib is solid wood and it won't snap on but otherwise I heard GREAT things about the sheet saver. (I hear it is a pain to change the sheets in the middle of the night because you have to pull the whole mattress up! ARGH.)

Our sheets are going to be 2 minky cuddle dot sheets (to match our set) and 2 plain white cotton.

i have a two-sided mattress from BBB, one side is for younger babies and the other is for older children (i forget what the materials are).
i dont use anything under the sheet, i have a mattress pad but i never put it on cause honestly ive never needed it. knock on wood but my DD is 13m old and she's never had a blow out in the crib and she rarely pees through overnight. honestly i only change the sheet in her crib on a regular or basis or when she spits up (more when she was littler).
.

Re: can u tell me ur crib layers?

my mattress was a hand me down so i dont know the type.
i always have a waterproof pad unerneath and then just a sheet.
i think i have 2 sheets. i got one with the bedding and then registered for one more. luckily DS is 1yr and he only had a leaking accident that went to the sheet once so i never had to add extra layers.

Re: can u tell me ur crib layers?

Double sided waterproof mattress.

And I can guarantee you that you need at least 3 sets of sheets, even if you have a laundry room in your house. (If you have to go out for laundry, get at least 5 sets) Numerous times we'd be washing one set as the next set gets puked on/pooped on, etc. So we'd have to change to the third set.

But only used a bottom sheet and mattress, nothing else in crib.
