Birthday Wishlist
My best friend is having a birthday party for her soon to be 3 year old. She set up a wishlist at Toysrus. I like the idea since it will make it easier for me to shop. When I mentioned it to DH as an option for our daughter's birthday, he wasn't crazy about it. I'm just curious about what everyone's thoughts are on a b-day wishlist.

Re: Birthday Wishlist
I looooove it!!!! I have been doing a Wish List at TRU every year for my DD for both Xmas and her birthday. It makes it easier on me (less returns and duplicates) and easier on everyone else (they have ideas as to what to get her).
I have a big family and lots of people who buy for her between two sides of family and friends. Fact is, if I didn't set up the Wish List I would be getting fifty million calls, texts, and emails asking me what she needs and wants. This makes everything so much easier and I like knowing that she will get age appropriate toys, things she will like, and no duplicates.
Nobody HAS to buy from the Wish List but everyone seems to because it is easy and convenient. I say go for it!!

Re: Birthday Wishlist
I've never done it for a birthday, but I do get calls and will answer when asked what my kids will like. For my family they ask me to pick the toys up and pay me back. I can see how convenient it would be.

Re: Birthday Wishlist
I have done it for DS' bday and Xmas the past 2-3 years. It makes thing easeier when family asks what he wants. Also, this year (DS turned 5) I took him to the store and he was able to scan the items himself. I also did that for last Xmas. He had a blast and loved when he'd open something that was on his list.
I do not publically announce it, but if asked I would say I made a list, but also tell things he liked- general things like Power Rangers, Monster trucks, etc.

Re: Birthday Wishlist
I did it because everyone kept asking what to get and I didn't feel comfortable saying what she needed. So I set one up and if anyone asked I mentioned she had a TRU/BRU wishlist if they wanted to refer to that. A few people got her things from it. It worked out for us.

Re: Birthday Wishlist
Oooh that's a good idea. DS' 2nd birthday is coming up and he's obsessed with Thomas so everyone has been asking what he would want and I say Thomas but I was thinking that he already has a lot of Thomas stuff so how would they know what to get him and he has the wooden set and they sell others not compatible. A wish list would make it so much easier for people to know what to get.
