Potty Training strategies
My DS is 32 months and is ready to be potty-trained. Problem is, I have no idea how to do it.
Are there any books, websites, etc where I can read about potty-training? I truly feel clueless about how to go about this.

Re: Potty Training strategies
I recommend trying the 3 day potty training method. There's a lot of info on the internet about it.
You will need to set aside 3 days with no planned outings. In the week leading up to the training weekend, start talking about potty training with your child. Read potty books, take him to the potty with you, let him pick out some big boy underwear and tell him that soon all the diapers in the house will be gone and that he will need to be a big boy and use the potty.
Day 1: as soon as he wakes up remove the diaper and take him to the potty. Put on his big boy underwear and explain that he needs to tell you whenever he needs to pee or poo. Dont ask if your child needs to potty--take him to the bathroom every 1 - 1.5 hours for the first two days. Every time that he uses the potty, do a little potty dance to get him more excited about potty training. Dont show any disappointment or anger if he doesnt get it. He will have plenty of accidents the first three days. Keep a close eye on him for physical signs that he's getting ready to pee or poo. If you catch him peeing in his underwear, just gently whisk him to the bathroom to finish. Constantly remind him to tell you whenever he needs to go.
Whatever you do, do not put a diaper or pull-up on. The only time I did so was at night or nap. And I always put it on after my kids fell asleep so they didnt know it was there.
I would give it a solid 5 days. My son did not verbalize needing to potty until day 4. If your son shows improvement, keep going. Dont get frustrated. Good luck!
