Yuck and OUCH! I'm in the midst of my Glucose test. . .
Appt was for 7. Got here 5 min early. Tech gets everything set up & starts to draw blood - **** it hurt like hell!!!! I've had plenty of bloodwork in both arms (ESP in the last year) and NEVER had this pain before. It shot up to my shoulder & down to my hand. I moved my arm ever so slightly & tech says "don't move your arm" I tell her how it really hurts. Long story short she takes needle out - which hurt even more- and switches to other arm. In the process of the switch she's huffing and puffing & I called her out on it and say "if this is too much I'll goto another location". She said its not a problem & denied huffing & puffing.
Whatever.
Now I'm waiting for blood draw @ 8:20 and 9:20. Add to it I feel lightheaded & nauseous and the waiting room. Hairs are VERY uncomfortable!
I just want to go back to bed! Too bad I have to goto work from here.

Sorry to hear that! I've had lots of blood drawn before too (well pregnancy requires it) and I never had a problem besides some bruising afterwards.
Well, at my 3 hour test, I was SO SORE from the 4 needles. It hurt every single time she did it. She kept taking it from the same exact spot too even when I told her, this HURTS and it never has before...
Guess what? 6 full weeks later... i still have a raised bump from where the needle went in... it still hasn't healed!!!
Good luck for the next few draws!!!

GET Out!!!! I just finished my 2nd blood draw in the same arm that didn't hurt (1 more to go) and this one hurt like the first 1st one!!!! She did apologize & said she was frustrated b/c I was in pain. Again, whatever.
Hope the last one won't hurt.

Awww im so sorry it hurt like that...When i had my 3 hr it hurt so bad, I made sure I told her every time it hurt so bad. I even asked her if she was new?! LOL She explained at the end that because you have to fast for the 3 hr you're vein are a lot harder to see and weaker so its tough for them to find and hurts us a lot more! Whatever, who knows maybe it was an excuse she had LOL!!

Glad to hear it wasn't all in my head! LOL
I was stuck 1x in Right arm and 3x in left arm. Right arm doesn't look to bad, left - whoa, I'm going to have a nice bruise!

Ooh, boy this is scary! Sorry to hear what you went through!!
I have tiny veins that they have trouble getting on a good day! Are you allowed to drink water at all during the 3 hr?
I haven't even done my 1 hr yet but nervous...
