Disability and paid sick time
I know under FMLA I am entitled to be paid sick time that I have not used. I will have 5 days which I imagine will be used the first week of my leave. When does disability kick in? The week after? Do I lose a week of STD because I am getting paid my sick time?

at my company yes you do Loose a week... they pay the company for the disability but the company keeps it because they use ur sick time in that first week. SO REDIC

Like the above posters stated, unless you have sick days saved up, you will lose that first week.

at this co and my last one... std is 6 or 8 weeks.first week is unpaid waiting period theyll use sick time or pto. ..week 2 to 6 or 8 is a policy with 60percent pay then after that can use any vacation or pto days

From what I understand (since is the same in my company) its 1 week used by your sick time and then 5 weeks disability to equal 6, which stinks.
