Where can I get a basic list of registry needs
Just wondering what I need and what's not necessary.
Any website where I can find a good list?

Re: Where can I get a basic list of registry needs
i found a list at WebMD: click here
i also found the registry list that BBB or BRU had to be fairly good - i just ignored the things that weren't considered necessities at first (jumperoo, walker, etc)

The Buy Buy Baby one is very comprehensive, so you can look that over and cross out anything you don't think you need / want.
BBB checklist

I used the BRU registry checklist and just went at it keeping in mind that they would always suggest more of certain items and some items that wouldnt be necessary right away

Re: Where can I get a basic list of registry needs
I liked the BBB one best. I just ignored the clothes since they say dont register for clothes. The styles change so quickly that by the time ypur shower and baby come it will be out of stock or no longer available.
I also say register for things youll need when baby is 6 months and up as well as stuff you need now. All my friends registered for bouncers or saucers or walkers and certain toys/activities, pacifiers etc that would be used at 6 months and up... It depends on what your comfortable with.

Re: Where can I get a basic list of registry needs
The best, best, best list out there:
Lucie's List
You have to subscribe to her newsletter to get a printable list - it's in a spreadsheet format. She tells you how many of each item you need, and her favorite brands. It's only 2 pages and so easy to refer to. Bring it to BBB with you when you register. You can unsubscribe right after she sends it to you, but I found the weekly newsletters interesting. Every week she'll tell you about something baby-related and it's way more interesting and "real-life" than Babycenter or any of those web sites.

Re: Where can I get a basic list of registry needs
You must purchase the Baby Bargains book before you register. This was my bible lol without it i wouldnt have been able to register. Would have no clue about what products are the best, safest and needed...
The only thing I personally didnt love about Lucies list is its 1 moms opinion. And while she states its based on moms that write in some of her advice is very hit or miss in my opinion. Its like anything else you cant follow it to a T, you also want to follow what you want to do and what is accepted in your circle of friends or where you come from.
Get baby bargains its amzing! It will make registering feel less overwhelming and i found their recommendations were all spot on!
