need help w/ twins and one bedroom apt!

DH and I live in a 1 bedroom co-op, its pretty spacious for us but to add twins to the mix...i'm trying to figure out how we will do it.

We are in the process of looking for a house but we probably will not be able to move until middle or ending of next year.

Here are my main concerns for now:
we cannot fit 2 cribs into our bedroom, how long can the babies sleep in our room using a pack n play? I have been reading about convertible mini cribs and i think i might go with 2 of those because they are smaller than an average crib but safer and more comfy than a portable crib. Has anyone used them? I will probably use my bed as my changing station but i have absolutely no room for a dresser for the babies clothes. Any suggestions? i do have a bookcase in the living room...maybe buy some baskets and use that to store baby stuff?

Re: need help w/ twins and one bedroom apt!

Hey..My son had a crib and his own bedroom but still ended up sleeping in a pack n play in my room for a year. I nursed so this was just much easier. I aso lowered it (when he got big) and bought a good quality pnp matress for comfort. I plan to keep my twins in my room in a pnp for a while as well. I will just be buying gone more pnp.

As far as the dresser goes do you have an extra closet you can dedicate to them where you can build some built ins? If not I definitley think they will be needing some sort of dresser bc the clothes really do pile up! Would something tall and skinner fit in you room?

I have space issues as well and will have to think of some ideas for clothing and storage so I wil let you know if I come up with anything!

My girls slept in one crib in our room until 4 months. They were able to nap in a pack n play together until about 3-3.5 months.

My twins sleep in the same crib most nights or in their swings it depends who is on the first shift if it's hubby he is too tired usually to carry them to their room so he leave them in the swings

My girls slept in the fisher price Newborn rock and play sleeper for the first 4 months. We kept one on either side of the bed. They were great because they folded flat. We also had a pack and play for them to nap in downstairs.

This is what we used for our girls as well. After 4 months I moved them into their own cribs in their room.

As far as clothes, I'd probably try to either use a spare closet or even rearrange your closet to share with them. You'd be surprised at how much their clothes take up space.

thanks for the responses!

DH & I decided to start storing some of our seasonal clothes and items we dont use daily at my parents house to free up some space. By doing that we should have a few draws availabe for the twins clothing. As for the sleeping situation i need to go to BRU or BBB to see what the mini cribs look like to see if it really is something we want to use.
