Pregnancy Woes

Normally, I wake up once during the night to use the bathroom, but last night I think I had to get up 3-4 times!!!!

I MISS SLEEPING. I've had problems sleeping since I got my BFP. Between uncomfortableness (and I've always slept on my stomach & face) and waking up to use the bathroom, I feel like I never get a restful night of sleep.

I can't wait to sleep on my stomach again!!

I also miss bending down without feeling strained and I miss walking without feeling like a crippled old man and I miss being able to cook and do the laundry quickly (now by big stomach gets in the way and if I stand too close or have the gas too high on the stove, my stomach gets too hot and if I reach in to get the laundry my stomach bashes up against machine).

I miss ordering whatever looks good off the menu without worrying about it. Everything I like always has off-limit cheeses, or is cooked with alcohol or contains other items that should be eaten in moderation/not at all.

13 more weeks of this!!!!

Hang in there - it's almost over!!! Then you can sleep on your stomach again, but you never get back your "single, no kids" sleep habits! LOL Sorry!!!

Chat Icon it really depends on a baby though, most babies are difficult in the beginning, first 3 months or so, but then they are fine and start STTN. Now if you get a kid like my DD you are in big trouble, my DD has been a horrible sleeper since the day she was born, she was torture for almost 4 years, yes, 4 YEARS! But first 2.5 years were nightmare, she never slept and neither did I .
I'm hoping that I have paid for all my sins by not sleeping for years , so this time around god will give me a calm baby who likes to sleep Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Pregnancy Woes

I didn't sleep for almost 2 years (the 10 m pregnant and then the 10 m DD was still waking overnight to eat until she finally started going 6:30 - 6:30 overnight sleeping)... and then 2 months later I got pregnant again and it started all over.

I'll sleep someday. But it doesn't really get better when the baby is here, sleep-wise. It just gets different and you get somewhat used to being a zombie.

I did sleep on the couch the last few weeks of my pregnancy and that helped a lot because I could prop in the corner which was more comfortable.

. Sad but true! You should I enjoy the sleep you get now how ever infrequent it is because you really won't sleep once the baby gets here!

Agreed. I now understand why sleep deprivation is used as a form of torture for political prisoners.
