Need advice...

So I've been having RPL (mostly chemicals) and the RE told me to take this month, possibly next off of "TTC" to do the blood testing etc. At first I was fine with it, but here we are at cycle day 15 and I'm O'ing... of course I've never O'd this early before, so I'm thinking all of the "what if this is the month of the good egg"... I don't want to waste any eggs or any chances. The main reason the RE told me not to try, is to save me from more heart ache. But honestly, at this point, I think I'd be more upset not trying at all. I will still do the endometrin... WWYD? Would you sit out these months, or take the chance?

Re: Need advice...

Personally I would follow the doctors orders.

Lets say you DO get PG, and you loose another one (g-d forbid) that puts you another month behind finding out whats gooing on.

My advice would be to do what the doctor says. You went to them for their EXPERT advice right? There is a reason you went.

Follow the DR's orders.

Re: Need advice...

It is hard not to try, but I would follow Dr. orders. If I get a BFN from this months IUI, then I too have to take a break and do additional testing. It suxx when that clock is ticking so loudly in your ear, but it just may prevent wasting MORE of that valuable time...Sorry, I know this process just stinks..no two ways about it!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Need advice...

You'll feel worse if you have another loss... I promise! One or 2 cycles in the grand scheme of things is not going to make a difference.

Re: Need advice...

ITA - follow the doctor's advice. Taking a month or two off may actually help because you wont feel pressured...and then when it's time to try again, you'll be all refreshed!

Re: Need advice...

Ok I guess I'm going against what the other posters have said here .....

If he just said to hold out on TTC this month for emotional reasons to save you from the heartache.... then I'd say just think of what you feel comfortable with. Are you ok with the possibility of chancing it this month for a CHANCE that things will work out -- but also for the potential for another loss? I would just weigh that out.

For what it's worth, I know someone who had a few miscarriages and was told to abstain a few cycles. Well.. she didn't ... and got pregnant.. and FREAKED OUT. Her daughter will turn 2 next month.

I would say just do what you're comfortable with, as long as it's medically safe for you and the baby if you DID get pregnant.

Remember... the chance of pregnancy per natural cycle is like 20%..... so it's like a 1 in 5 chance you would get pregnant this cycle to begin with.

ITA. I would go ahead and try as long as you can handle the emotional outcome if it doesn't work or God forbid ends in a chemical. If you don't get pg you can still do testing but if you get pg you just never know this could be the one. JMO
