Mirena

Ok so any advice;
My girlfriend had a D & C and then 2 weeks later had the Mirena put in. A week after it was put in she started spotting for a couple of days it lasted 3 days then stoped for 3 days and not its day 8 of bledding. She said that this morning it was heavy enough that she had to put in a tampon..
Has anyone else had this experience with the Mirena is it normal to bleed like that in the begining or should she call the ob??

The beginning is a mixed bag of spoting to period to discharge. The bleeding was limited to the first 2 or so months the spotting and discharge lasted a total of 6m before it resolved itself, wore panty liners every day. Just my personal experience.



ETA: yeah btw.. those first 6m were beyond annoying and frustrating etc. but it lasts 5yrs. So 5yrs of protection and for me no periods after that first 6m for about a year was pretty darn well worth it.
