Getting Nervous
I have 21 days in my countdown and besides having the baby move, I have butterflies and my heart is racing when I think of becoming a mom in such a short amount of time. My head is racing! I know that this is the most natural thing in the world but it's ME! It is just so..wow..I am not just going to visit a friend in the hospital after they have their baby. Anyone else feel this or felt this?

Re: Getting Nervous
I still have a little less than 3 months to go but I am feeling the same way. Some days are better than others but genreally I am very nervous and worried. I am worried that I won't want to do all the things I am required to do as a mommy. I am so used to having my freedom and being independent. Anyway, I am sure others feel the same way. Hang in there. It will all work out.

Re: Getting Nervous
I can totally relate! I have 12 days on my countdown now! It is all going so quickly! I have so many mixed emotions. I am uncomfortable so part of me just wants it over with --- and I sooo want to meet this baby, see if it's a boy or a girl, what do they look like, and all of that.
At the same time, I have a 6.5 year old daughter and I babysit full time for a 3.5 year old. How am I going to manage it all. When the heck am I gonna sleep? Are the two bigger girls going to be super jealous? Will Ihave forgotten all of my instincts on what to do with a newborn? I am so so so so nervous!
Sending you major hugs!!

Re: Getting Nervous
After I had my first, every time they brought him to me from the nursery I would think OMG - I get to take him HOME with me!!
Totally normal. Heck - my kids are 4 and 2.5 and I'm 7mos pregnant with my third and I STILL have a hard time believing I'm a mom, responsible for these little lives

Re: Getting Nervous
OMG totally!
I was just telling my friend that I feel like they should make me and DH go through some kind of obstacle course or something before we take the baby home to make sure we know what we are doing! e.g. a changing station in one corner, sponge bathing in the other, feeding station...
I'm so worried about getting home from the hospital and then we are just going to look at each other like "hmmm now what".

Re: Getting Nervous
I have to say that it has been my dream FOREVER to be a mom. It's always been then most important thing to me.
Now that it's less than 5 weeks away, I'm starting to panic about the slightest thing! I feel like there are so many little things I'm unsure of...What do I dress the baby in? Do I use diaper cream every time or just when the baby is irritated? Will I know when to feed her? Sometimes I find myself confused by the stupidest things and that makes me worry about the bigger things. I'm sure that I will have more than enough help from my family but I'm just surprised by how scary it is when it's what I've wanted for so long.
