AHHH Another Bday thread w/ POLL

Yes another 1st birthday thread. What did you do, big party, small party, where?

In July would you want to attend an outside party or inside?

We'll be doing it at my parent's house. They have a lot more space they we do, both inside and out.

ETA: Sorry didn't ans the other questions! DUH!

We are TRYING to keep it smallish, maybe 25-30 total.

I'd prefer inside in July if during the day but having an indoor-outdoor option would be nice too (that's what we are planning--some activities in and some out).

I think it depends on who you want to invite. We were invitiing a lot of kids of all ages, a lot of family too. So we needed the space, entertainment and great food.

We found a party gym that had a dining room and let us cater from a great fancy resturant.

i have two summer babies, DS is Aug, and DD is July.

we dont have a yard that was big enough for 80-100 people, so we rented a spot at the park.

it was hot but it was definitely fun.

My dd turns one in march and we are having a big party since we did not have a christening. Since march is not the warmest of months we rented a knights of Columbus.

If my dd was a summer baby I would have rented a space at a park.

Ds1 birthday is feb so we rented a hall and had a huge party.
Ds2 will be a backyard

I had DD #1s bday party at our house and I swore I would never do it again. It was in June and sweltering...we even had a huge tent, but the heat was unbearable. Elmo was dying inside his costume. We had it catered, but cleanup was still a pita. I would suggest anywhere BUT home. JMO! Spend the money for a bday they will remember at home!

PS - no way I would want to attend an outside party in July

we held our son's first bday in a restaurant in may - mainly because we were in a condo at that point and couldnt fit everyone.

for ds #1 and dd, we did a small party at home. now with ds #2, we are doing at a hall. it was getting too cramped at my home, and my friends' families are multiplying, so we needed more space. it will be catered. expecting like 75 ppl.

DD1- rented a hall, december bday
DS1- backyard party, july bday
DD2- backyard party, june bday
over 100 guest at each
I prefer an backyard party as a host and a guest!

DS will also be 1 in July
we have a big backyard so planning on having about 80ish people over (DH has a big family) and friends to celebrate.

Just trying to figure theme and entertainment

I'm a fan of spending as much time outside in the summer as possible. Especially since I WFT so anything outside on the weekends is perfect for me
