When to buy maternity clothing?
I'm only 9 weeks in but I keep getting an email from old navy and the maternity sale they're having right now.
When did you ladies start buying maternity clothing. I was thinking about just stocking up on the basics like tanks and tshirts.

I just started like a week ago and Im 21 weeks... In my opinion, I say wait until you actually need it because you dont know how big your going to be or get and you dont know when your going to need it... Im always big on if you dont have to spend the $ it can wait. Old Navy, Gap, Motherhood Maternity have sales every week so you dont have to worry your going to miss out on something...
Everyone feels differently about this, this is just my opinion on it... Im buying as I need it and as I fit into it...

I started last week - 21 weeks.
My pants started to get uncomfortable so I went to the bella band and that didn't work so I figured - why not? And bought some maternity pants.
I got khakis from Old Navy (amazing), jeans from Gap (they suck), dress pants from gap (good), and jeanish gray pants from Macys/Motherhood (great).

i just went this past weekend. ill start wearin them tomorrow. had to get all my pants taken up
just started week 14
i didnt buy them because of the sale. i could no longer button my pants because of my baby bump. same with my tops. my boobs got so big so fast.
my regular clothes just make me look fat. maternity clothes make me look preggo

If there is a sale now you should see if you could get a price adjustment.
Thanks I think i might hold off since I can still fit into my regular clothes. :)

I think I got the bella band at around 10/12 weeks. At that point it was mostly bloat, but my pants were feeling really uncomfortable.
I started buying and wearing maternity clothes by 16 weeks I think.
ETA: I think it's okay to order now if you can take advantage of a good sale!

Until you absolutely must... My reg jeans were so uncomfy at a certain point that I HAD to suck it up and buy new clothes... And now that I entered my 3rd tri... They dont fit me AGAIN... So Im going to have to go shopping for maternity clothes for a 2nd time  ... My point is, wait until you absolutely must and then when you buy, buy like a size larger so you dont grow out of them!!

I think I was about 18wks when I started wearing maternity clothes. If you have a coupon and want to go shopping then go for it! Even if you dont have to wear maternity clothes right now doesnt mean you cant prepare

Couldnt agree more. I did it at about 14 weeks. My old clothes hardly fit. by 16 weeks i was completely in maternity wear, aside from some shirts but at this point- im now 18 weeks, i cannot wear any pre pregnancy clothes. My belly is too big. but as above, regular clothes make me look fatter, and maternity= pregnant..woo hoo..

I think I was around 20 weeks and I couldn't button my regular jeans. I bought maternity jeans from Old Navy. I'm still wearing my regular tops, though.

ON has sales all the time. If you miss this one, they'll have another in a few weeks.

Im just about 19w. I have been using the bella band since around 12 weeks. I still have not bought any maternity clothes. I def dont need tops, but I am thinking about getting a pair of jeans within the next 2 weeks. Like one of he above posters said, I would rather wait because I dont want to outgrow the maternity pants towards the end and have to buy even more

I just bought maternity jeans at 13 weeks. At about 10 weeks I was so bloated that my pants hurt my belly when sitting especially in the afternoon! So I got the belly band but it's been driving me crazy bc it rolls down or slides up. So I caved on bought maternity jeans. I def have a little belly already! My tops still fit!

Im 12w4d and i just bought my first pair of maternity jeans this weekend. Only problem is i cant wear jeans to work so i am still wearing my old pants just with the belly band. It is starting to get VERY annoying though bc it is consitintly rolling up (like a pp said) so i think i am going to have to cave and buy Mateternity work pants ASAP. As of right now i am still in my regular shirts but sooner rather than later i am going to move over to maternity shirts as well.
