We just rolled & deposited over $400 last week. What a PITA! We started the jar in June 2010.

Re: Counting Change
A little over $200. We cashed it in for a specialty restaurant on our Honeymoon cruise and a little extra gambling money.

Re: Counting Change
Around $650. I think that was about 2 1/2 years' worth of change.

Re: Counting Change
We collected change in a 5 gallon water jug twice.. The first time we got 800 dollars.. That was collected for about 3 or 4 years.. This last time we got a little over 1100 dollars..I don't remember how long we were collecting that for but it basically paid for our last trip to Disney!!! Lots of quarters...

Re: Counting Change
Around $750. It was a jug my dad had been putting money in for years, and he gave it to me as a college graduation present.

Re: Counting Change
When I met DH he had 3 5-gallon water bottles filled. One was filled with just quarters. The other two were filled with everything else. He had been collecting change for about 3 years.
He turned them in to buy my engagement ring - over $11,000 in change!
Now, we both save ALL of our change and put it in jars and have competitions about it we turned it in before our vacation in September. I got just over $250. He beat me by about $20.

We both make it a rule NEVER to use our change for ANYTHING!!!!! Anytime we pay for something, we pay with paper money and whatever change we get back goes in the change jars. We don't notice it and it actually adds up very quickly.
