OB that delivers at Stony Brook?
Hi Ladies,
I'm new here! A friend recommended LIF to me and said all of you were very helpful.
I need an OB recommendation. My husband and I are talking about having a second child. I want to deliver in Stony Brook. The thing is I work in western Nassau and work crazy hours. It would be easier for me if they had in office in Nassau somewhere or western Suffolk.
I had a cesarian with my first, and when I look back I wonder if it was necessary. I'd really like a doctor that'll consider letting me have a regular birth.
Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

Re: OB that delivers at Stony Brook?
If you go to meet the midwives they deliver at SB and they will do a VBac. You can call them or go to that meet the midwives night and they will help you find an OB in your area. I think Manhasset and SB are the only hospitals that do VBACS
I already did the tour - and it was beautiful and so clean BUT I went for a sonogram at SB and HATED residents working on me. Then I saw someone on here post that the resident actually did her CS.
I wasn't sure about my CS either - I still am not sure why I had one, and I feel like it may not have been necessary. After much deliberation - I think I have reluctantly decided to go with the second cs rather than the vbac, but if I would probably go with SB and make it clear I didn't want a resident.

Thank you for responding!
What made you decide to have the 2nd csection? I know I don't want one unless the doctor says it's necessary. Not judging or anything, just wondering.
I know there are other hospitals that'll let women like me (and you) have a regular birth. My husband's coworker did it at the hospital in East Meadow - that's what made me realize I didn't have to have another cesarian. But I don't want to go there. I think LIJ does them too, but SB is the closest to my house.

I use Three Village Womens Health and they deliver at SB. I also live closer to SB but work in western Nassau. So far it hasn't been an issue. I've been able to get appointments as late at 6:30pm. They also do sonos in the evenings which is a plus.

How would I find out how many cesarians they do?
