Feeling terrible. Food related (long)

I feel so stupid! Dd has a Milk sensitivity. She turned 6 months last fri , and I EBF so I haven't had any milk products. Well, since it's been going so well, on Sunday I knowingly had a Chicken cutlet made with regular breadcrumbs that are not dairy free! I figured 1 wouldn't hurt. Now I realize that between Sun and Mon I probably accidentally ate at least 2 other things containing dairy ( I've gotten too lax w/checking labels, who knew blowpops would have milk?!?) on Tue she pooped A little more than usual, but I thought nothing of it...

Stupidly, I started DD on rice cereal yesterday, and she started having mucous in her poop (like she did w/the milk allergy, plus she's pooped a lot).

My gut tells me it's from the dairy I ate and not the rice, but I don't know if I should stop the rice, let the dairy clear our systems, and then restart rice.

I'm mad at myself bc we were doing so good dairy free and that I decide to break my diet the same week I decide to start food so now I dont know what the issue is!

Isn't rice the mildest thing to start with...I hope she's not allergic to rice!Chat Icon

Thanks for reading/letting me vent.

Not an expert, but I'd stop the cereal for a few days and just EBF. Rice doesn't have a lot of calories or nutrients IMO, so she won't be missing anything. Let the BM clean out her system and then start again.

Don't beat yourself up over this, mama. It could've happened to anyone. Who thinks that milk products might be in breadcrumbs?? Your DD will be fine.

Thanks for responding. I'm going to stop rice and try again on Sunday. We see the ped next week so if it's not worked out by then I'll see what he has to say.

And I'm going to be extra careful about the milk offices like I was in the beginning. The ped said to wait until she was 1...so that's what I'll do!
