Need OB In Northport area please

Just moved to the Northport area and got a BFP. My OB is in Garden City and she delivers at Winthrop. I used her for my first and she was so wonderful. But now I am a little worried it may be too far. I'm not sure how fast delivery goes with the 2nd baby... I hear it can be fast... and it's about a 45 min drive to Winthrop with no traffic.

So I am torn... it took me a long time to find an OB I am happy and satisfied with, so I don't want to switch... but is Winthrop too far?

Any recommendations on an OB in the Northport area... does Huntington Hospital have a good maternity ward?

There are two doctors- dr. goldman and dr. wagner. They are both really nice and I completely trust both of them. My only complaint is that with dr. goldman the wait is really really long. With dr. wagner he usually sees you within 10 minutes. There website says that they are only open till 5 but on Monday and Tuesday they are open till at least 9.

This is my first child but Huntington hospital has a good reputation. I went to 3 free classes there and the RNs were amazing. I am due in less then 2 weeks so hopefully I can tell you first hand that they were great!

I use WGM as well. They have 2 offices, one in E. Northport and one on 25A in Huntington. I see both doctors. Dr. Wagner delivered my DS. He did a great job on my c section. Dr. Goldman has better bedside manner than Wagner (Dr. Wagner is more to the point) and that's why his waits are so much longer!

A few people on LIF had recommended to me Dr. Felicia Callan. I saw her once about a yr before my BFP and have now been seeing her every month since. I absolutely adore her, she is always so willing to spend time with me and answer any questions I have. She is with North Shore Medical Group in Huntington and delivers at Huntington Hospital. I see Dr Scanlon at North Shore Medical Group...he is in the same group as Dr Callan. I dont really like Dr Callan but LOVE Dr Scanlon and Dr. Schneider who is in that group as well. Schneider delivered my first and Scanlon my second. I had the BEST experience at Huntington Hospital both times. In fact I didnt realy want to leave the second time! haha! highly recommend delivering at Huntington!

I've been seeing Dr. Delrosario for years. She's on 25A in Huntington. For the most part, I was happy with the pre-natal care I received there. The waits were sometimes very long and her office is also 30-40 minutes from my house.

When I was in labor, I was treated by another doctor she works with, Dr. Granoff. I'm pretty sure he has an office in either Northport or East Northport.

As for Huntington Hospital, I cannot say enough great things about the nurses and staff. They were truly amazing from the second I walked in until the day I was discharged. Please FM me if you have any specific questions/concerns.

I just delivered at Huntington last week, staff was amazing!! Dr Wagner was on call, he was great. I go to dr. Kramer, he is great, Dr Singer is awesome as well!

I 100% recommend Dr. Callan or Dr. Schneider.

They are located on New York Ave in Huntington.

I just had my second DD with this group. Dr. Callan is my OB and she is a fabulous. Smart physician, up on new info and has always given me very sound advice. She takes her time to discuss everything during visits and when I had both of my DDs. The first of which she was on call for but then had to leave for office hours and her partner took over, but the second time she came to the hospital for a meeting and specifically came to L&D to see me. She talked to me and even did a quick exam to answer some questions I had.

Dr. Schneider delivered both of my daughters and I once saw her for a sick visit when Dr. Callan wasn't in. She is also wonderful. Great in the delivery room, very kind. When I just had my DD two weeks ago, I was asked by two nursing students if they could watch my delivery. I let them in, and Dr. S had them hold my legs. After delivery (since my DH doesn't like to do this) she offered to let one of them cut the cord. She also taught them about the placenta and all the ins and outs of delivery. I am such a dork, and while I was being cleaned up, I was looking over as she was instructing them. I think it shows the character of a physician who is willing to take the time to teach given the opportunity.

There are two other doctors in the office and they are both great too, but I have the most experience with these two.

Also, they only use the four doctors in their practice for delivery. And before you deliver you will have appointments with all of them, so that you get to know them before you are in the hopsital. That is why I chose to go with this group.

At the moment I have an appt with my ob in garden city. So.... Realistically is 45 min + too far come delivery time for baby #2. Last thing I want is a delivery in the car in traffic.

I am also a Dr. Wagner and Dr. Goldman patient. love them both. I'm 32 wks with my first baby and so far both have been wonderful. Dr. Goldman likes to schmooze lol
