I am a NYC teacher and planning on taking 8 weeks for maternity leave. All of my time is unpaid bc I am negative days. I will be taking the 30 day grace period and FMLA. My secretary told me I will have to go off payroll. Then she said it may take time to get paid again. That's insane! After all this time I am going to need my money! Does anyone know how long it takes to get normal pay after being off of payroll?
