How do you feel about Stangers touching you?

It happend today- first stranger to touch my belly. It doesn't bother me one bit when a friend or family member touches my belly- but this is what happen today.

Stranger: When are you due?
Me: February
Stranger: Oh how nice! You look great! What is it boy or girl
Me: We aren't finding out
Stranger: I can tell you (reaches with BOTH hands to my stomach) It's firm I say girl
Me: Well thanks for the morning groping (and I walked away)


How do you react to strangers touching you?

Like I said for family and friends I have NO problem with it. IMO it is their way of feeling closer to the baby. But for a total and complete stranger...

I don't think I ever had a random stranger touch my belly. That is bizarre. I don't mind friends and family. Hell, my belly gets so big it's usually invading other people's personal space!

wow, I have never had a stranger touch my belly, that must have been so ucomfortable for you, I can tell you I would not like it either. I too am fine with friends and family touching my belly but not strangers.

I had some random people touch my belly when I was PG with DD...like random old ladies in the grocery store.

I usually just walk away and roll my eyes and think that they are some loopy person or something in my head...

I could care less. I think it's actually kind of cute when old ladies want to touch it. I also don't freak out if strangers touch DS gasp. It could be that I have just never been approached by a "creepy" stranger LOL.

A girl that I hate touched me at work the other day and I just walked away.

I dont like being touched. People i know have touched my belly but asked permission first. Im ok with that.
I would not like any random stranger reaching out and touching my belly. Kudos on your response.

Doesn't bother me...with DS the only stranger who touch my belly was the lady who worked at the nail salon anyway. Touch away! That's the one thing that doesn't annoy me.

It has never happened to me. I get a lot of smiles and congrats but as far as anyone reaching over I think I would pull back. (And I have no problem with people that I know touching my belly- I love it actually )

wow...in 3 pregnancies..that has NEVER happened to me..

I don't mind close family and friends...

but I would never do it to anyone...

I honestly would've been shocked and speechless. This is my first pregnancy and I don't mind when family or friends touch my belly but I would not be happy if a stranger or even a coworker did. Eww!

I dont have a belly yet, but when i do that is a def NO NO. I dont even like people touching me when im not pregnant

it hasn't happened yet with a complete stranger but I'm wondering if it will bother me.

Every time someone I know touches my belly I'm always surprised but not annoyed.

I'm kinda hoping a stranger does it now just to see how I'll react

Even before pregnancy I had a problem with people touching me. Like patting me on the back or touching my arm. It's just a thing of mine. I'm big on personal space.

No one has touched my belly yet but I know I'm not going to be a fan once I start getting to that point.

I thought I would be uncomfortable with this but I don't mind at all. I work in an all male environment and unfortunately my immediate colleagues are mostly trolls....they never ask how I am, don't care at all.

Perhaps for this reason, I find people who are excited an reach for my belly refreshing. A friend of my Mom's ran into me at the nail salon and she asked if we had a name, I told her and she then kissed my belly and placed her hands on it and said "God Bless you baby Anthony, may you always live a healthy and happy life!"....it REALLY moved me. She was so heartfelt.

Sorry to be longwinded but I am actually surprised at myself for being so welcoming of this.

Fortunately I have not had a stranger touch my belly, and honestly I don't know how I would react.
My SIL told me a story when she was PG and standing on line in grocery store, the lady in front of her turned around asked when she was due and rubbed her belly

So far it's only been family and friends and I really don't mind it at all from them.
