I'd totally go with the crack comment.
Just say.. well considering I'm off the crack cocaine this time around he shouldn't be like that and if he is well then it must of been out of my control.

same here!! I'd be so fuming and would want to get all emotional and yell at them, but people like that use those moments as times to make YOU look like the irrational one, despite their insensitive comments...
the crack comment allows you to be a B*TCH and get your point across that YOU didn't do anything to cause it, but at the same time keeps it light and an overall joke...
truthfully I'd want to punch the person who said that

I would honestly flat out tell them....
When you make comments like this, it really hurts me. I have enough guilt over it already, despite the fact that the doctor has reassured me that it was not because of anything that I did. I don't need you to rub salt in the wounds and make it worse, please stop!

what an inconsiderate thing to tell a mother that she was the reason her baby was small. I mean really?? I am so mad for you. If someone tried to tell me to eat more this time & that it was my fault I'd say something like Well, I know you aren't a doctor so let me just tell you that my doctor said that our situation with DD#1 had nothing to do with anything that I did wrong.

ITA!! What is said above is what I would say... especially if this person or people have made more than 1 comment. If it was just 1 then I might go with the funny crack comment.

lol this is me to a T...which is why I'd probably start with the "crack" comment...
if i tried to get serious, I'd just get to crying, and then of course, I'd be the "crazy hormonal pregnant woman who can't control her emotions right now" which would make them rationalize their behavior even more
