Recommend a OB/GYN in Manhattan please
Ok.
This is a rush thing.
We have to choose our health plan for 2012 by Monday!
Lot of issues:
1. We haven't found a house yet (we are taking a break and rethinking budget so we don't know WHERE yet)
2. In the mean time we are staying at her place in the city, and my place in Queens sometimes on the weekends.
So the big thing is - WHERE should the doctor be?
I created a thread on this awhile back, and the overwhelming feeling was near home.
But we don't know where home is yet...so I think the doctor will be in the city.
Now one of the factors in choosing a health plan is whether the doctor is part of the plan...so we can't choose the plan until we have a doctor!
What a mess!
So, I need some names so I can see if they are in any of the plans offered by my company.
So...please recommend your OB/GYN that works in Manhattan!
She lives near Lenonx Hill hospital.
But she heard good things about Cornell Weil hospital.

They only deliver at St Luke's Roosevelt, but I used Katrina Bradley (there are 3 other female docs in the practice). I really liked her and know many people that have used the practice. Their office just moved, but I'm not sure of the exact new address, I think it's on 86th St on the west side.
I've also seen Mindy Kwan on Central Park South, but had to leave her b/c of an insurance change. I liked her also, but didn't see her for any part of my pregnancy so I don't know how she is with that. I'm pretty sure she delivers at Lenox Hill.

Cornell Weill Medical Associates, Dr. Waterstone. I assume you want a conventional birth (epidural)....service here is top notch. you will be VERY happy.
There are locations on the east and west side, do a quick google search. All deliver at Cornell hospital and records from those doctor's offices are electronicaly transferred to the hospital. Great all around.

delivering at Lenox Hill soooooooooooon.. my ob is Samuel Levin, LOVE him. but he is out of network for all insurances, however i have UHC and do not pay anything extra.

I go to Dr. Waterstone (associated with Cornell) but she is definitely not accepting new patients.
Another dr. associated with Cornell/NYP is Dr. Sydney Wu (female)--heard great things about her.
I used to go to Mazlin and Shaw--not a fan of their practice anymore.

I will look into them.
I do know that the wife found Dr. Waterstone yesterday (from online searches) but she is not included in the health plans we are offered.

I highly recommend NY OBGYN PC on 84th between lex and park.
There are 4 doctors in the practice:
Dr. Trentacose -female
Dr. Kassanoff - female
Dr. Adler - male
Dr. KurtZ- male
You will see them all during your pregancy and they are all wonderful. I was put on hospital bedrest at 24w for preterm labor and saw one of the doctors every day. They were able to get me another 3 weeks and 5 days before I delivered my twins. Dr. Trentacoste did my emergency c-section. I love her! She was my favorite so I was happy she was the one on call when I had to deliver.
They are affiliated with Mt. Sinai which I was extremely happy with for both myself and now my twins in the NICU. Mt. Sinai nurses and doctors are all amaZing!

He delivers at Lenox Hill. I Love him because you never have to wait more than 5 minutes past your appointment time.

I'm delivering at NYU - it might be a good option for you since it is on the East side and easy to get to from Queens (we're moving to Queens about a month before the baby is due). My doctor is associated with Lexington OBGYN - her name is Dr. Alison Ho and she is great! There are a total of 5 doctors in the practice. I like this practice because you rarely wait past 5-10 minutes past your appointment time.

Dr. Bradley was on call when I developed severe pre-eclampsia and she delivered my DS! I felt VERY comfortable with her and how she treated everything. Their new office is at 2 West 86th, right off Central Park West and they do only deliver at St. Luke's Roosevelt on the west side.
I live in Queens and I go to the city for my OB because it's closer for work. I pretty much never have to miss work for any appointments (SO important because I want to save my days for being with the baby). When I developed pre-eclampsia, I was at work and my dr. said to come in to get monitored. I was able to be there in about 10 minutes from my office. If my doctor was near my home, it would have been closer to an hour commute.

Oh wow a fellow 09er here! We go to the same practice! I have yet to meet Dr. Ho... she is actually the only Dr there I have not dealt with yet so i am so glad to hear you like her!
