Meet Mariah Carey’s twins Roc & Roe!
At long last, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon introduced their 6-month-old twins to Barbara Walters and the world on last night’s 20/20. Meet Moroccan and Monroe (aka Roc and Roe)…
So cute! You can see an entire album of photos of the kids at DemBabies.com, a web site the couple set up to share a few of their family’s special moments with fans.
Revealing that she underwent fertility treatments to conceive, Mariah opens up about her difficult, high-risk pregnancy, saying, “I don’t think I understood the enormity and the magnitude of what it really does to your body. Like it’s not just, ‘Oh, you don’t look pretty and you have a bump.’ Unless somebody’s been through it, it’s difficult to understand what I went through because my pregnancy was very unique in terms of what happened to me.”
But now that “dembabies” have arrived, the happy parents say that “the love that we feel for these babies is above and beyond anything we’d ever dreamed of.”
And Nick and Mariah are already busy planning Roc and Roe’s futures. While the Grammy-winner can see them following in her footsteps – “They really respond to music,” she notes – dad Nick has other plans for his “little geniuses.”
“I want to make sure we get education first. Society puts too much on entertainment and entertainers,” he says. “They praise them like they’re royalty, especially in America, where it should really be about the teachers or, you know, the doctors. I want them to be able to sing as beautifully as their mother. I want them to be able to play instruments and everything. But I want them to go get a Ph.D!”
“You can help them with their homework because I know I’m not going to know anything about it,” Mariah jokes.
