That is the practice I used and love them! I mainly went to West Islip & Stony Brook but had the IVF in Mineola and they are great.

I go to RSofNY in West Islip, but go to Mineola for procedures and weekend monitoring. They are a very busy location. I know I have waited a long time a couple of times for an IUI or to see the doctor after blood/sono.

My IVF experience there though was really good. No real waiting and all of the nurses were so nice.

I know some girls have said they feel like a number there, but I have never felt that way

Good luck to you!!.

Re: RSONY (Mineola) Need Input PLEASE

I have been going to RSONY sine April. I go to the Mineola office and it certainly does get crowded...but it's like a well oiled machine and I usually don't have to wait long. I just had my first IUI there last Friday and although you rarely see the same dr twice in a row...they are all pretty nice. My consultations were with Dr. San Roman and I really like him. If this IUI doesn't work...I will most likely move onto injectibles then to IVF and will def stay with the practice. Feel free to message me with any questions:)

I go to RSofNY and they are wonderful. I've mostly gone to the West Islip and Stony Brook office.

I loved the nursing staff there. They were all so incredibly sweet, empathetic, and efficient. I think Dr. Halfen was my favorite of all the doctors I saw followed by Dr. Stelling, but there were some Mineola/Brooklyn doctors I never met because I was mostly a West Islip/Stony Brook patient. A lot of people really like Dr. Trivax.

Dr. San Roman, the head of the practice, was technically my doctor (who created and oversaw my protocol) and he was not my favorite. He was very nonchalant about monitoring my IVF cycle, didn't really adjust medication appropriately. I stimmed for 12 days and they let my lead follies overmature. My IVF was BFN and the rest of the embryos degenerated in the lab. My new doctor was sort of appalled when he looked at the records from my first IVF. I would say stay away from him and you'll be fine. IMHO, he seemed more concerned with opening his new location than getting people pregnant.

You can always check the SART data for any practice to see how their success rates compare. That was a big part of the process when I was looking to change doctors.

GL!

I use them but at the Stony Brook office but my dr also goes to mineola. For the most part I like them, nurses are great. Sometimes there is long waits especially for the Dr. I see.

Re: RSONY (Mineola) Need Input PLEASE

I use RSNY currently and yea, the mineola office is crazy (with nothing to compare it to i thought that it may be me, but its been confirmed).

I have to say that I really didn't dig the communications while going there for just medicated cycles or IUIs but now that I've moved on to IVF my opinion has changed. There is a bit more hand holding, less mess ups (i.e. writing Rx that costs $4k rather than just switching brands as I requested like 5 times).

Since it is so crowded you need to be on top of your game. Speak up if something seems off or if someone wants to just fly through things... once I started doing this, it made a huge difference.

i feel exactly what you just described... lack of communications... i feel like i have had to take the initiative to make appts for myself and ask questions versus them monitoring me... very frustrating. the only thing is that it is VERY convenient for me to go to that office as its right by my job.

Re: RSONY (Mineola) Need Input PLEASE

I went to Mineola for egg retrievals and embryo transfers. I was a patient at the Stony Brook office. I orginally was seeing Dr. Cain but did not like her that much and ended up switching to Dr. Sung has my primary Dr. I hardly saw her since she is not at the Stony Brook office. I did see her at the ER and ET's. She is amazing and so happy to be doing what she is doing. I am having Chat Icon Chat Icon in November and she was responsible for that.

I went to the Mineola office and Dr. Sung was my primary doctor, although I saw the man once and another woman a couple of times... it's been over a year, sorry, I forget their names! Plus, they got me pg pretty quickly and I have "New Mommy Brain" right now. Chat Icon So, yeah, I'd recommend them!

Anyway, the hours are really convenient and they always let me slip in for blood work at 6:30 AM even if I didn't have a formal appointment. They always called me by noon or 1 PM with test results.

Re: RSONY (Mineola) Need Input PLEASE

I went there for almost 2 years with Dr Trivax as my primary dr. I have to say i absolutely love him - he was patient, explained things in the easiest way possible and was so down to earth about everything. He was realistic in our expectations and never made me feel like i was being strung along or was just a number.

For me, the early office hours and the fact that it was a big office were a big plus. I was able to go in there at 6:45 or 7 for every monitoring appt - get my blood drawn, have U/S and a consultation and be out of there still in time to get my regular train to the city at 8:30. They were a huge part of helping me keep my IF medicated cycles as stress free as it could be.
I was always called by noon-1:00 with results from any blood test i took, which also added to the convenience.
They are open 7 days a week, and someone is always there to help you. Their financial coordinator (Cheryl i think her name was) was super helpful as well when i was looking into IVF

The nurses and front office staff were always very helpful and kind - i honestly never felt like a number because if something didnt' make sense to me, i'd just ask a question and have someone give me an answer. I truly felt like everyone that works there was screened to make sure they were nice people as well as good medical professionals!

The only negative experience i had was with the demeanor of one of the drs - i can't remember her name (i think it may have been dr cain, but not sure - all i remember is she had red hair). Her bedside manner was a bit brusque and abrupt during one of my iui's. The other dr i didn't like was a man with grey hair - i rarely saw him there and he was super glib when i met with him once - he definitely gave me a vibe of not caring about me.

But overall, i highly recommend them.

Re: RSONY (Mineola) Need Input PLEASE

I go there too- Dr. Saketos was my initial dr, and who is in charge of me, but like others said, you pretty much see who's there if you're there on weekends, etc... Dr. Trivax is really nice, and called me back when I had a concern late at night, and Dr. San Roman did my last (2nd) IUI and now I am 6 weeks 5 days preggers!! Just went in today and saw a heartbeat!! The nurses are awesome and friendly, and the sono techs are awesome. Even the people who draw you bloodwook are really friendly. They do have it down like a well oiled machine, but once you get to know everyone you feel right at home. Good luck!

I went there, with Dr. Saketos as my primary. Loved Dr. Trivax, he did 2 of my 7 IUIs. Dr Sung also did 2, with the last one a success. Now I'm 8 weeks preggers.

What's great about the office (Mineola), for a person who works in NYC, was that they start appts really early so I did all my bloodwork before 7am, and we were even able to start IUIs, by 715a.

All the nurses were great too, I felt very comfortable there.

Technically, I did not get pregnant under their care. I had gone for s consultation, put off taking the provera because I was going on vacation and wouldn't have been near a lab to get my day 3 bloodwork. By some miracle, I got pregnant naturally, but when my hormone levels came back low and I started spotting my reg. Dr. was all about the wait and see approach. I ended up contacting RSONY and they had me come right on for bloodwork and a soon and they monitored me for the next 4 weeks. IDK, I was very thankful for how they handled the situation and put my mind at ease.

Re: RSONY (Mineola) Need Input PLEASE

I am currently a RSONY patient (Mineola office), and I have had both good and bad experiences. There have definitely been times that I have felt like a number, but lately I have had no complaints.

I absolutely love Dr. Trivax. I think he really cares and he works with you in terms of what you need. I was originally a patient of Dr. Seketos, but I didn't care for her bedside manner and I had a horrible experience with an IUI that she performed.

I really like the nurses. They are really great and they go above and beyond.

I have had major issues, however, with the receptionists. Last year I was a permanent substitute teacher and I was not allowed to be late for work. Dr. Trivax understood this and put a note in my file that I was supposed to get 6:30am appointments no matter what. Some of the receptionists, however, were absolutely nasty when it came to this. I would have to fight with them to give me the appointment. I had one receptionist even tell me that I "needed to get my priorities straight" (I don't think that she still works there). It was at the point that I was planning on switching offices, but Dr. Trivax stepped in and took care of the issue.

Hopefully you will get Dr. Trivax. Good Luck!
