Leapster, Leapster2, Leapster Explorer? Which one for 4 yr old?
What is the difference between these? Which would you get for a 4 yr old? From the reading I have done I am leaning towards the Explorer but, wondering from those that have it. Also, do I need to buy that recharging station? TIA!

We bought the Leapster Explorer for DD when she turned 4 and we love it! We liked it because you can buy the camera attachment which is her favorite. It takes pics and records video.
It takes 4 AA batteries which last a while, but it may be worthwhile to buy the recharge station if your DC uses it a lot.

We had a couple leapsters and then they came out with leapster 2. I may be wrong but I think the only difference is you can plug it into the TV so they can play on the big screen. We bought the leapster 2 and loved that too. All the games can be played in either one.
Im not sure I know what the explorer is, but the leapsters SAVED me during TWO HOURS at DMV yesterday!!! The parents who had nothing for their kids kept saying what a great idea it was LOL

We have the Leapster Explorer (the purple and white one). DD#1 got it for her 4th birthday - it is a HUGE hit. She loves writing letters, etc and never gets bored with it.

Probably would be helpful but this last set lasted us the whole cruise and we don't go though them that quickly.
