Need opinions on child care due to hurricane...
Question... at our house in NJ we were pretty much unaffected by the hurricane. We did get some water in the basement, but other than that we were very fortunate. My children's daycare is in the next town over and they lost power so the school was closed today. Just found out they still don't have power and will be closed tomorrow and until they get power back.
My daughter is 20 months and my... son is going to be 4 in a couple of weeks. Together they are a handful. My mom is watching them for me today while I work half day... I watched them in the morning and took them to her house in the afternoon. I know that my mom or my MIL could watch them tomorrow but honestly, I don't want to have to bother them with watching both my wild children for an entire day.
My daycare has other centers in different towns in NJ. They said that we could call around to the other centers to see if they have any availability to take our kids while our center is closed. There is one center in the same building as one of the offices my company has. They can take my son, but not my daughter. I could go to work in that office, take my son to the center there and leave my daughter with either my mom or MIL.
Would you take your child to a daycare center for 1 or 2 days where they don't know anyone? My husband seems to be concerned about this. Am I a bad mommy for not being concerned? It is a center run by the same people who run the center my kids are currently at. I think my son will be fine even if he doesn't know anyone and I will literally be upstairs from where he is in case of any issues. Thoughts on this? I'm just trying to make this work since my husband and I both have to work this week.See More

I would bring DS to daycare, you can check in on him and he's old enough to verbalize to you if there's any problems. And you could play it up to him like it's a treat to go to the new place for a few days...

I would take your son to the daycare and leave your daughter wiht your mom/MIl. I have a 4 yo, and it would be fine.
