Hilton Head Review

Just got back from Hilton Head for the second time - a great place to go as a couple or a family. We stayed at my parent's timeshare in Palmetto Dunes, so I won't review that although it was great.

Restaurants: Truffles, Aunt Chilada's, Antonio's - all very good. Truffles is my favorite, we went around 430 with my almost 2 year old. They sat us in the back room all to ourselves so if she was loud she wouldn't interrupt anyone else. Food and service were great. Aunt Chilada's more casual, louder, decent Mexican food. Antonio's nice atmosphere, decent Italian. We also visited the Kurama, Japanese Steak House, which was fun, food was pretty good but the cook and waitress were excellent with my daughter. We went to The Smokehouse which is a chain type barbeque place. It was good for families - loud and cheap and food was okay.

We took our DD to Lawton Stables to see the animals - very cute, clean, friendly. Nice petting zoo area with pony rides if they like. We went to the Sandbox Children's Museum also which was small but perfect for her age. We went about 1.5 hours before they closed and almost had the whole place to ourselves. It was great.

Coligny Plaza was great for a little shopping and ice cream. We went to the lighthouse and walked around the pier and spent mostly everyday at the beach which was calm and beautiful. One day we drove to the outlets which are about 20 minutes before HHI.

Overall it was a great trip although we left a day early to avoid the hurricane. I highly recommend it!
