Picking up the phone

Does anyone ever get the urge to call their lost loved one, like when something good happens and then realize you can't? I had that happen the other day and actually hit the speed dial only to realize mom wouldn't answer. It was not as exciting as it had been when I first wanted to call her. Chat Icon

Yes! Not as much anymore, but especially in the first few years I would want to tell her about something that happened, or what someone said, or ask her a question about how she would do something, or how to cook a certain thing. For a split second I would think "I'll call mom" and then remember that she wasn't there. It would kill me each time!!Chat Icon

There is so many things I wish I could tell her, but some how I feel like she already knows because I feel like she is always with me.

Re: Picking up the phone

I want to pick up the phone everyday when I am at work and call my mom at work. IT was a daily ritual, for her to call me a few times a day at work and I would also call her a few times a day at work . Picking up the phone is a or was a ritual that I never thought to do , I just did it . I actually still have not cancelled my mothers cells phone and pay the $ 50 a month just so I can hear her voice still.. Chat Icon

Re: Picking up the phone

my 50 year old uncle recently passed away suddenly of a heart attack -

I was so upset, I had a voicemail from him on - I deleted it right away (which i NEVER do) and said, oh i'll call him tomorrow - but he died before I called him.

I still do this with my dad who died 7 years ago - everytime something happens, or I am lost driving - i want to pick up the phone and ask - i get so mad bc i know he would be able to help me and he cant.
