Okay, have to send in a casting tape for a job--should I have my hair and M/U done?

It's an on-air scientist for a national geographic show, basically hosting a 30 minute show each week.

I was going to wear a fitted black button down, dark jeans, and heels.

Do you think I should get my hair and makeup done, or do it myself?

Thanks! Do you think it's okay that my button down shirt is long sleeves? The two buttons are linked together at the cuff, so I can't even roll up my sleeves, LOL!

Thanks! But now I'm having second thoughts about the hair and makeup. I probably won't even get this job, and I don't have a job right now. So I hate to spend unnecessary money for something that isn't even guaranteed. Ugh!

Why not get your hair done, do the tape, and then go out for a nice dinner in the city? Chat Icon Chat Icon

When I went for hair trials for my wedding, I always went for dinner after.

Hmm, so maybe just get your hair done and then go to a makeup counter and have them do your makeup? Can you do your own hair at all? I am pretty good at it if I use hot rollers, maybe something like that would work?

Either way I am sure you will look great as long as you are polished and neat. You never know about the job, think positive!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Again, good luck. Chat Icon

Def get your hair done, at least blown out.

As for makeup, do it yourself if you can, and make sure to wear good foundation and do your eyes and mouth a little darker, the camera washes you out.

And don't be so negative, you never know what they are looking for!

Make sure there is very good lighting ... you want lighting to come from a few sources all around you, not just one. Outdoor can be good, but pile on the makeup.

Booked an appt for hair and makeup. Thanks, girls! I think I'll be more confident on camera if I know I look my best. DH's uncle said to think of it as an investment since they will see me and if I stay in their memory they may want me for a different science show down the line.

I have friends in TV that are filming it. They are bringing a great camera, light kit, and boom mike. I'm all set. Excited for tomorrow! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
