Who else is freaking out about the horrible things happening lately?

I know we can't live in fear.
I know that we have to do our best to protect our kids but sometimes it's out of our control.
I know we can't keep them in a bubble.

But, I just don't know how to do this.

I am sickened over the things that happen in this world. It scares the hell out of me, I'm not going to lie. I don't want to be this person who is filled with anxiety. I don't want to make my children paranoid. But, when I read all of these horrible things that happen I just lose my mind.

It's just all too much to take right now. Between Casey Anthony going free, the Anniversary of the Taconic accident and reading the story that their mom wrote, now this poor boy from Brooklyn, and top it off with a special on Jaycee Dugard last night. It's seriously too much to take.

My heart hurts for all of these people. I am scared to death that something will happen to one of my boys, or that something will happen to me. Everything changes in an instant.

With the drunk drivers out there, people driving and texting, I just don't know what we can do as parents to protect our kids.

I am super emotional and expecting AF which is why I am so irrational right now I think. I just don't know anymore.

Please tell me there are others that feel the same way and I am not the only raving lunatic out there.

I feel exactly like you do. I was crying last night watching the funeral for the sweet little boy from Brooklyn last night. Watching the news takes on such new meaning for me. It makes me so sad to think that there are horrible, cruel, awful people in the world. I want to keep my kids inside with me all the time, but then I want them to live and grow and experience the wonders of life and the world. It is so hard and scary. to you.

Someone just suggested a book to a fellow LIF'r on FB who posted something similar.

You are def. not alone. I can't even watch the news anymore because I get a panic attack. DH puts it on and I can't listen.....it just makes me sick.
