how much time should i allow for a drive to prudential center...
i will be leaving from port jeff or sound beach on a weekday and the concert starts at 7pm. mapquest says it will take about an hour and forty min, but i know there will be traffic at that time. do you think 4:30 is good? i haven't driven out there in forever. TIA.

It's a crap shoot b/c if you leave at 4:30 it will probably take you exactly that long to get there. I would rather leave earlier, like 3:30, and have to kill time once I got there.

How are you going? Through Manhattan or through SI? Through manhattan is shorter, but sometimes I go through SI to avoid the Lincoln Tunnel. I'd leave by 3;30 on a Friday

cross island to george washington bridge. lincoln tunnel directions save quite a few miles, but i think going thru manhatten at that time on a friday is just crazy

If you could get to Penn station in NYC then your best bet would be to take the train to Penn Station Newark and there is an underground tunnel that goes right to the center
but if you want to drive then I would leave no later than 3:30 to make a 7:00 concert

i looked at the train times and i would actually have to leave earlier to take the train, than to drive.
plus i already did prepaid parking. plus i don't want to wait around for trains after the concert. i'd rather just get in my car and go.
