Samsung 50" DLP TV for sale - $150

I didn't know the best board to post this on, but thought this one gets enough traffic. If another FAMILY wants HELP getting a nice TV for cheap, my FAMILY is the one that can HELP!

The Samsung DLP TV is just over 4 years old. It has a great picture, however, the Digital Micromirror Device , or DMD board just began to fail and needs to be replaced. What that means is this TV is a DLP and inside the board is a DMD chip with 3 million tiny mirrors. The picture you see when watching TV is from reflections from these tiny mirrors. When they physically get stuck, they either show black or white instead of a color. This TV has numerous white dots that are all over the screen (see picture, which is blurred because of the slow shutter speed used to capture the dots w/o a flash.) The replacement cost for the DMD is about $300 – however, it’s rumored according to a Samsung forum online that Samsung will repair it for free – See the links to find out more: (you might have to cut and paste if the links are not active.)

Once the TV is repaired, it has a BEAUTIFUL HDTV picture. We loved that TV but DH wanted to get a bigger one that's LED - so this one is up for grabs for super cheap because of the repair needed.

We're in Commack but DH might be able to deliver - depending on the location......
