OK to wake clock (or something similar)

Has anyone seen (or bought) one of those clocks that change colors when it is time for the child to wake up in a brick and mortar store? I was hoping to buy one ASAP and not have to wait to have it shipped. DS was up at 5:00 AM this morning and it is killing me! He thinks that since it it light outside it is awake time Chat Icon
I have tried Target and Bed Bath & Beyond but neither had it. I am getting desperate!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I got mine from amazon and I have to say for the most part it works. It took a few days for him to understand the concept, but now he knows that he can't get up until the light is green. Sometimes when he wakes up earlier he will yell but we go in and remind him not until the clock is green. I also bought black out curtains which helped too.

I tried that. Sadly it didn't work. He was so much better for weeks but his waking up today at 5 completely put me over the edge!

Since Sophie started camp, she is waking up so much earlier too! Not as early as 5am, btu 6:15 or so! Chat Icon I have a regular clock and she knows she shouldn't call me till the first number is a 7, but she has been regardless. Let me know if you find that clock!

I just don't get it. He is so exhausted when he gets home, I let them still run around for an hour and put them both to be at the "regular" time. D still sleeps in but J has woken up earlier and earlier each day!
I'll let you know if I find it Chat Icon

Same thing here! She is so exhausted after camp so I thought she'd sleep longer but she's up even earlier! So crazy!

Re: OK to wake clock (or something similar)

I got ours on onestepahead.com. Its a great website where I buy tons of things for my DS. What we did was set it for when he was waking up (that was 6:15 when we got the clock) and every 2 days we made it 5 minutes later. Now its up to 7 and he is doing pretty well with it. He gets up and show DH and I that it's 7 and "wake up time". Good luck!

Re: OK to wake clock (or something similar)

I think we got ours at Onestepahead; it has a bunny sleeping & then you set it for the light to turn the wake up bunny on (at whatever time you want). We moved it 15 minutes longer every few days.

It worked fine for DD; haven't tried it w/ DS yet.

At this point at 4 (she's waking up at 7) which is fine & now just wants the bunny to "wake up" all the time. :)

Just an update - today he woke at 6:45 (on his own). Maybe yesterday was just a fluke! I am most likely going to just buy it from Amazon. Chat Icon Chat Icon
