Anyone watch So You Think You Can Dance?
I was very surprised they put through Natalia and not the girl that came back a 5th time. She was booted at the contempory stage each time. I can't remember her name. I thought she was great. And much better than Natalia.

Yeah, I thought there were a lot of better dancers than Natalia - not that she isn't talented. I get what they are doing, I just don't think it's fair to the more talented people.

I agree.
They always made it a point to bring attention to her weight.
I definitley feel they cheated someone else who was better.
I would be very shocked if they put her through to the final 20.
Her sister on the other hand is amazing!

I totally agree. I said to DH that there is no way she will be in the top 20 - she just physically can't do the moves the way she needs to. She can't move as fast, she can't jump as high, and now she has a new health issue to deal with (diabetes). She was very good, but to me it was obvious that they kept her this long for the storyline (as much as I hate to say it).
But I guess they still have quite a few dancers left that will be cut, so in the end it makes little difference if they swap out her for another dancer who they knew wouldn't make it to the top 20 either.

That's a good point.
I think she will be cut at the very end & they will proabably blame it on her health, or she will bail out because of her health. (Not that diabetics can't dance, but she was just diagnosed, so prorbably needs to work out the right balance of diet, mediation, & exercise this may be too much too soon.)

Her sister is incredible! I have a few favs so far and she is def. one of them!

ITA. I think they kept her that long to make a statement. Nigel even made a comment to her at one point about how she was breaking down barriers and walls. I think they wanted to send out a positive message that if you are passionate and love to dance, you should, regardless of your physique.
This season looks like it's going to be amazing!!! I LOVED the routine with the leaves last night. It was so graceful and beautiful

I watched all of the auditions, but I feel there were so many people in the last group of 31 that they cut down to 20 that they didn't show at all.
One of the girls who made the top 20, they didn't even show any auditiona footage when they were talking about her before she went before the judges.

the first number was absolutely amazing. 
as for the sisters- i dont think the younger one was the best dancer.
i saw her screw up many times- and hesitate before a few movements.
..and this has NOTHING to do with weight.
The older sister deserved to be in the top 20. The younger one has more work to do.
I am not thrilled with the ballrom dancer chick. I relaize that she is amazing at what she does- but she is already a world class dancer. I feel that spot should have belonged to someone who was fresh.
eta- did anyone think that Jeaninnis little sister shoyuld not have gone as far as she did?
i felt like her movement was a bit awkward- and that they only kept her on as long as they did because of her sister. which to me- is unfair

I think this season is going to be amazing. The dancers have great personalities and add a lot of life to their performances.
Can't wait for the competition to begin!!
