Central AC cost...
What was the cost of your central AC installation and who did you use?
I had 2 contractors in to quote my prices on installing individual units into 4 rooms...
We were looking at $300-$350/unit installed, plus supplies (molding for the outline of each unit), plus the cost of an electrician to run the 220 line from the opposite side of the house.
So basically $1500 for the contractor... 1500-2000 for the AC units PLUS the cost of the electrician... (havent priced that out yet)
Roughly at least 4k
BOTH contractor said central AC would run 6k.... I was because I thought the cost of central AC would be MUCH MUCH higher...
So now, Im exploring this option Ideally, Im looking for a company that will offer no interest financing....
We have a 4bdrm colonial levitt home- we do have an attic (if that makes a difference)
Any pricing ideas and suggestions on companies is GREATLY appreciated!

Re: Central AC cost...
a lot depends on the unit you purchase, the higher the SEERS, the more expensive the unit (but also the more energy-efficient). We paid just over 10K (with the rebates) for our CAC and we have a 3 bedroom colonial. I'm not sure I would recommend the installer i used though (although the CAC worked great last year, they just weren't that neat).
