moms with 2 or more how did your kids adjust

Im due may 25th with #2 and worried how my son will adjust. right now he wants nothing but mommy and im hoping it is a phase and sometimes wonders if he knows something is up. Daddy is starting to become more bummed and concerned how he is gonna handle him when im gone for 4 days. Did you bring sibling to hospital to see baby if so how often?

DD was the same way, she was 2 when DS was born. She did pretty well, a little extra clingy but nothing terrible.

I remember she used to always tell DH to take care of the baby so I could take care of here.

Not sure how it's going to be this time. So far, DS is much more of a daddy's boy so maybe he will be clingy towards Dh?

DS was 16 months when DD was born. Both of mine were c-sections. I was very upset about being away from DS and I asked to be released a day early from the hospital.

He was VERY clingy the first two days we were back home- I'm not going to lie, it was hard. I think he DID cry for me a lot but noone told me- thank goodness. But, a few days after DD was home he was fine again and we settled in.

I saw you posted about having a repeat c-section- I'm having my third in July- I'm afraid of it too! But, I know its going to stink (the recovery) but I also know that I made it through the last two times and after a few weeks, all will be okay.

You will be just fine- you and both of your little ones! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: moms with 2 or more how did your kids adjust

I just went through this so I can help.

DD1 was 27 months old when DD2 was born 2.5 weeks ago.

I had a LONG and hard labor and wound up with a csec again.

I had DD2 on a Friday. I was in pretty bad shape that day and didnt even have any visitrs at all until Sat. DD2 was fine because she was with my mom a majority of the time... and she would ditch me for Grandma anyday...LOL. DH went home each night and put her to bed like her normal schedule (which kinda stunk bc he left the hospital at 630 each day, but I had visitors so it was ok)

DD2 came up by herself with DH on Sunday. She was a little confused at first but we brought her presents and nce she realized I was ok she was fine. I had DH sort of sneak out with her and I know she cried leaving, but DH took her to Mcd's and she was fine by the time they got there.

I came home a day early on Monday. The first week was HORRIBLE...... FOR ME. I was so emotional, recovering from a very rough and exhausting 2 day ordeal with labor, pushing and a csection and all I wanted was my old life and schedule back. I wanted DD1 by me at all times and felt super guilty tending to DD2. I definitely think I was experiencing the baby blues to some degree, but luckily for me the fog started to lift about a week later and I have been pretty ok ever since (the nights make me anxious and I dont like being alone....but I think that is normal)

DD1 was really fine except her sleep was disrupted. She was waking up several times a night and giving us a really hard time going to bed. It was rough but only lasted that first week and has been ok since.
