I may be overestimating but I would order 5 or 6 pies.

I use a piece and a half per person as a guideline...

I would say 6 pies too. How old are the kids? Depending on their ages I would get the pizzas cut into 16 small slices.

We have always done 1 slice per child and 2 slices per adult. (But this is when he was younger than 3 years old. Older kids eat more.)

We use 1 slice per child and 2 slices per adult and usually have left overs. #1- because not all adults eat it, and most only eat 1 slice at a kids birthday party. for our next one, we're planning on figuring out with 1.5 per adult.

I have no idea. I just did this yesterday and had 5 extra pies left over!! So for about 30-40 people.. 15 pies is too many!

I went by two slices a person and then added two pies for extra but, I never recounted after the No's started coming.

I would order 5 pies and cut 2 of them into the small half slices. Some kids or even adults will only eat a half piece while other will eat 2 whole slices.

When I have class parties, I do what Julz suggested. I figure 1.5 slices for kid and the parents usually have 1, but at a home party, they might have more. But 2 pies are cut into 16ths.

The great thing is that you can always order another pie or 2 and it will be there shortly!

Re: calculating # of pizza pies for a kiddie party - what's your "formula"?

Yesterday I had 16 kids and maybe 10 adults. I had 4 pies and had a full one left over! You never know!! Some adults ate 2 regular slices, some had none! I had them cut into 16 pcs too, figured easier for the kids and the adults dont care...

2 pies for adults..
parents don't eat how they normally eat at kid's parties... so for 13 I would say 2 pies... especially if you are going to put out an app or two..

for 18-20 kids I would get under 6 3 pies cut into 16ths and over 6 4 pies cut into 16ths

edited to add- no matter the age of the child- I ALWAYS cut into 16ths- even if they are 9 or 10.. 'cause that way if they wan't 1 1/2 slices, 1/2 of a slice doesn't go to waste.

in case any of you didn't know- I own a birthday party place- so I consider myself an expert in ordering Pizza for kids.. LOL

based on what everyone is saying i like this breakdown...

i'm counting on 13 adults that i assume will be there, don't know how many on top of that. of those 13, 6 are in my family, so it could be a lot more or not depending on who decides to drop off and who decides to stay Chat Icon but the apps should cover that i'm thinking, hoping...

thanks everyone!

1 piece per child (even though it's usually 1/2 a slice).

2 pieces per adult.
