baby showers
Ok, I know I'm waaay ahead of myself here but, when it comes to baby showers....do you have to pay for everything or does everyone else (MIL, SIL, sister, mother etc) plan the entire event and pay for it. I only ask because if its something I have to plan and pay for I have to start saving money now

Totally depends. Some people have family members pay for it. Some throw it themselves. Did you have a bridal shower? Who threw that? Maybe they will offer to throw you a baby shower?

No, I didnt have a real bridal shower. I did have an engagement party which my SIL paid for. I guess time will tell. Honestly, I already told people Im not much into showers anyway but SIL insist on it so she may end up throwing one herself, which is fine by me

"save" for it regardless. if you don't end up having to pay for it yourself, it'll be a nice push present you can give yourself

I always knew my mom would pay for the shower -- she made that pretty clear from the get go. She paid for the shower itself, and my sister handled decorations.
When shower ideas were being thrown around, they both let me know they would be taking care of those aspects.

My mom mil and dh's step mom paid for the restaurant. My sisters chipped in for the little stuff
