Can I take anything to help me sleep?
I've been waking up 4 a.m. every single morning and I can barely function during the day because of it. Is there anything I can take that is safe to help me sleep? I'm only 4 weeks pregnant, not sure if that matters.

I swear from the moment I found out I was pregnant until about 7 weeks I was an insomniac. Then the first trimester fatigue settled and and I slept all the time!
You might be able to take benadryl, but check with your doc first.

benedryl! I have been waking up at 2-4 am most nights - if it's not too close to 4, I take one benedryl and it does the trick.

When I was sick last month, my OB actually suggested I take Benadryl to help me sleep and recoup. I wouldn't take it every day, but I've taken it once or twice to help me sleep when I was sick.

Tylenol PM is actually just Tylenol and Benadryl together in one pill! So if you already have one or the other in your house, just take whichever one you have.

Ask your Dr. but my DH takes Melatonin to help him sleep. It is better than sleeping pills--BUT not sure if you can take it pregnant

I went to my Dr today asking her the same exact thing. She told me benedryl at night. Hope that helps!

it shouldn't matter - i actually just get the store brand. As long as it's just diphenhydramine as the only active ingredient (unless it's tylenol PM then it would have diphenhydramine and acetaminophen)
