In picking granite, the kitchen guy shows us samples from the "Grade A" category.

So, he shows us a color - specifically Santa Cecilia - it is the beigey color that is in a lot of people's homes. It goes well with cherry cabinets. I was shocked when he said it was a Grade C.

So, I look online and sure enough, it is Grade A in 90% of the sites that I see. So I call him out on it...nicely, of course.

He gets super ****** and tells me it is what it is and it is the price that he pays from the yard. OK, even if it is true, can you blame me for at least trying to clarify this and can you be nicer about it??? I ask him if there are similar colors in Grade A and he flat out says no.

UGGGGGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do you HAVE to go with his vendors? This isnt an all inclusive wedding. I would look elsewhwre, and if they dont like that, I would find another contractor. That seems ridiculous to me. Its your house, your money, you should at least have a say in who the hell does what!

Then find out how much per square foot you are paying with the granite he allowed and then have him refund you. Who cares if it's not warrantied. The new granite place would do that.
