Spinoff to Glider post - BTDT moms opinion on a Rocking Chair
We've had a rocking chair that is simiar to the pic I posted in the family for years. It was my grandma's from the 70's. Ours is white leather and the arms are a bit different, but the height/width is about the same. Any BTDT moms have an opinion on if I can use this for the baby or if I should go with the glider.
I apologize for the small size. Work won't let me on the site for a larger pic.

Re: Spinoff to Glider post - BTDT moms Rocking Chair
I don't think that will be comfy with baby. a) it looks like a pain to get in and out of (too much of a recline) b) lack of solid arm rests
Personally, I don't think it'll work

Why don't you try sitting in it with a doll or stuffed animal similar in size to a baby. It might be fine for you! Personally I like it and think it's a cool chair.

Are you going to nurse? If so, I really think that will be uncomfortable. I had a Shermag from Target with DS1 which worked out fine but got a Dutalier upholestered one with DS2 that is great. I spend a lot of time in my glider!

I am not sure that will be comfortable enough if you plan on spending a lot of time in it. We used our glider religiously and sometimes I fell asleep in it, this doesn't look so comfortable for that. We bought a Little Castle from BBB and can't live witout it still.

ITA. Get a glider for the nursery. Though that would be cool in your living room!
